I believe you would have given a PCC for this duration while applying for PR, if so, you can mention the same in the explanation box for why PCC isn't being provided. The online application guide has detailed it out with a similar example.
Having said that, IRCC can still ask for a PCC again, so it is better you apply for one in parallel so that you can provide it if asked for.
After that it's mostly a waiting game till you receive test invite, assuming you are within the 18-55 age range. And potentially a request for fingerprints IF they ask for it (not too common as per my understanding).
Once the test is successfully passed, another stage of wait until the oath ceremony invite arrives.
Others can correct me if I've misquoted anything.

Wow I had to look at the forum posts from back then - different thing, the stuff we were worrying about, covid-time and all that. We ended up punting our arrival / return to Canada until the following summer (2021) because of school and stuff. Wife and stepsons will apply for citizenship when they have the days, which is this fall/beginning of the year (kids have done little travel, spouse has more - even though in total not that much time abroad).
And at least we're not dealing with the issues back 'home', which are just awful.
