Yes, but the good thing is, there will not be any delay in issuing Police clearance for anybody whose passports are less than an year old.
Good luck

Do my husband need passport clearence and police clearence?

Hi all

CIC received our application on July 4th, but we didn't get the AOR1 yet, how long do you think it will take before we receive it? Also, do they send it through email or regular mail?

Raluca

The trend is 20 days and mostly e-mail (sponsor's email)

Is that 20 business days or does it also include weekends?

Thanks!

Hello all!

I've finally sent out our spousal sponsor application to sponsor my husband here, which arrived at the Mississauga office this morning. :D
I'm terrible with waiting and now the big wait begins, haha. I'm a Canadian Citizen and my husband is in Tennessee. We've been together since March 2015 and got married in March 2016!

We sent the application with the checklist included, all forms filled out and signed by both me and my husband where necessary.
We got Certified True Copies of all our photocopied documents.
Proof of relationship has been sent in forms of Facebook/Skype conversations (Between us and family members), Skype call logs, Ontario Phone Card receipts (Long distance calls), marriage certificate, gift receipts we have sent each other, Facebook posts and obviously TONS of pictures of us together and with family/friends.
We included his FBI Record check as well as his Medical exam results and payment receipt for our sponsorship costs.

I'm really excited but also equally nervous. I'm hoping it will go faster then we expect. :)

Do *all* copies need to be Certified True copies?? I don't remember seeing that. I thought it was only where specified, like with translations.

Question...my husband left the finished package with me last time he was in the States. Can I send it to Mississauga from the States, or does it have to come from within Canada, where he lives? It's an outland application.

Hi all!!
I've gotten a lot info and help from this forum and the time has finally come! I just dropped off the application package at my local FedEx office. Just wanted to wish everyone good luck! Now the wait begins....

Canadian wife sponsoring her American husband.
