Hi All,

All July 2015 outland applicants (especially New delhi visa office) My wife's PR application timeline is as follows:

Application filed: July 15, 2015
Application received by CIC Mississauga: July 16, 2015
AOR1: August 18, 2015
SA: September 15, 2015
File Transfer: September 15, 2015
AOR2: September 22, 2015

I checked my ECAS system and it currently says PR application status "in process" and SA status also "in process". When I click on PR application status it says following:

We received Mrs. (my wife's) application on July 16, 2015
We started processing your application on September 18, 2015

My question is: Has everybody (specifically NDVO applicants) received similar ECAS notifications? What do they mean by "we started processing your application"? My understanding is that this means they have opened our application and are currently verifying all the documents, photos etc etc. Is this correct? If this is the case, then I am very much surprised and confused how NDVO operates. I am waiting for someone to get PPR who has similar notification in 2015. If someone does get it, then I would conclude that it is a randomized process and not a sequential process which I feel will be quite unfair to the applicants who applied before may be early 2015 or late 2014. I guess someone has to really go the NDVO office and see what are they doing and how are they doing. I think we should all write a letter to CIC complaining about outland offices on how they operate. This is not a streamlined process and the outland visa offices have to properly tell us or at least update the status from time to time and also let us know at least if it is a random process or sequential process which will help the applicants to be mentally prepared and know what and when to expect otherwise just expecting something in air does not help.

Anyone, please share opinions or comments who have have similar notifications in ECAS and if someone really knows whether it is a random process or sequential process or can explain this new strategy update status that CIC has begun. I suspect they are just playing mind games with all the applicants. Before it used to be "we received your application on this date" for like 6,7 or 8 months and after that it used to go "IP". Now, I guess they change it to immediately "in process" but still are working on prior applications. I am not sure. If it is really "in process" then whoever has similar notifications from ECAS should technically expect PPR in another 1 months or so. If that happens it would be super fast and I would be extremely shocked and surprised at the same time!

Cheers,
Vinod

Same boat as you dgame, when was your application initially received? Took 63 days for SA in my case.

Application Received: Jul 27 2015
Acknowledge of Receipt (AOR): Aug 26 2015
Sponsor Approval: Sep 28 2015
...
..
.

In my SA notification, it says that the application is now being sent to CPP-Ottawa. I thought that, since she is American, they would send it abroad to New York, no? ???

Also: Is anybody else having difficulty updating their profile to show their immigration timeline? I saw a post on how to do it from 2010, but the Profile editing options mentioned in that post are no longer there. Weird. Do you need to have a certain number of posts before you can modify it?

adm48, the New York and LA offices are no longer where US Applications are sent. From what I understand, unless it's an incredibly complex case, US applications will be sent to Ottawa. I'm not certain, but I think they started doing that in recent years to alleviate some of the ridiculous wait times that LA and NYC were producing/disperse them. Ottawa's VO seems to be far more efficient that the VOs in the US.

As far as the profile editing, the previous poster was correct. You have to post 10 posts before that option becomes available. ;)

Unfortunately there is no complaints procedure on the website that I'm aware of or Immigration Ombudsman to contact, which doesn't help applicants when they have issues with CIC - whichever Visa Office your file is with.

I imagine that if there was, CIC would be more accountable for it's processes and handling of cases and they would have to be more transparent.

(My husband said that back in 2006/07 when he applied, his file was " in process" for over a year with no contact from CIC at all during that time.) In my opinion, " in process" just means it's in a queue for processing and nothing else.

It would be more helpful for us if e-CAS showed more stages of the entire procedure, for example a check -list similar to the one we all had to enclose with our applications and a tick box once those papers have been verified. Even if you're at the beginning of the process, just to know where your file is up to would be amazingly helpful to us all instead of the unreliable system that's currently in place. I understand how busy they must be, but on the other hand we've all paid a lot of money to apply, have medicals, police checks, invested our time and energy in completing the forms correctly to ensure our files are satisfactory etc etc. We're called "Clients" by them but there's no accountability and it's a tricky in terms of contacting them excessively in case you upset them and your file sits in an even bigger pile! LOL :D

I haven't experienced anything negative with the process or CIC but I've read other threads and the frustration is there for all to see.

Haha, after my last post I thought I'd check e-CAS and I'm now In Process with LVO !

Has anyone who received SA also received AOR 2 yet?? I got SA on 21 September but still didn't get AOR 2! Starting to get nervous.. I guess worrying will be a part of my every day life till this is totally overrr :(
Is AOR 2 just an e-mail or will the E-CAS change as well?

I got an e-mail stating that my sponsorship was approved September 18 and they've changed the PR to In Process as of September 24. That said, ecas hasn't updated to show sponsorship approval and my husband hasn't received an AoR2 yet.

Hello All,
We received AOR2 one day after the SA approval. I hope this process keeps on the fast track. Good luck everyone. :) :) :)

I called the CIC office today and finally got my SA :) :) I got approved on Sept 29, so it took 69 days versus 55 days but I am very excited :D

Also I haven't gotten an email or letter, only knew because I called.

What additional documents did you send? And how did you send it.

My wife was asked to submit medical docs and PCC (which was already submitted as part of the application) and we just emailed it back to them.

SR0715,

We're in a similar situation. We were asked to submit proof of medical. Since this was included with the original application, we made a case-specific inquiry and told them the proof is already in their possession. I uploaded a scan of my wife's E-Medical notification just in case. Still waiting for a response.

Do other July applicants show Medical Received in your ECAS yet?

Do you get an email from VO after file transferred to them from Mississauga?

I sponsored my wife. On my ECAS, sponsorship and PR both "In Process". Under IP on PR, just two line, when Mississauga received the application i,e July 8th and a new line "we started processing XXXXX's application on September 23rd 2015". Is it AOR2?

No email from VO notifying they received file. Are we all in the similar situation July applicants?
