Alain. Hope you are feeling better today.

Hi RKC. Thank you for the concern. Sorry for the late reply. I have been mostly offline the last couple of days, to rest. I am feeling a lot better today. I woke up with no fever, and my appetite is back. And because of that, I am now in the mall to reclaim all the fattening, artery-clogging food that I missed in the last 3 days. ;D

Your Highness, Zelda, thanks for the PMs. Sorry for the anemic, low-energy replies I sent back. My brain was reeling from the effects of carbohydrates-deprivation.

The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that’s the burden of the year.

may be it's not so bad. But astoshka ,for a person who is used to coastal plains climate (current temp 27° C), using ACs all the year round , not used to multiple layers of dressing , it gets a bit too much. Anyways, If at all God almighty & CIC decides to grant me PR , I should be able to manage.

Don't worry RKC. I have ordered all of the industrialized world, including manufacturing giants India and China, to release 50 gazillion metric tons of chlorofluorocarbons into the atmosphere to expedite the process of climate change. By the time the first batch of MI3 immigrants reach Canada in March 2012, average global temperature would have already climbed up by 10 degrees, the ozone layer will be a thing of the past, and polar bears will be the stuff museums are made of. ;D :P

Prepare for sunny weather, and bring SPF 800 sunscreen.

sounds great..avikashyap... Hopefully it remains that way in coming years..or else like Big O said I will be confined indoors ( hibernating). ;)

Global climate change is expected to shorten Canadian winters. Toronto and most other Canadian cities just had a green (not white) christmas.

Dear everyone,

Tonight, before Christmas comes, I would like to greet each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas. For those who do not celebrate this event, i say Happy Holidays my dear brothers and sisters.

Before the week ends too, I would like to close it with a bit of news...

Since my children who are on vacation temporarily "occupied wall street, err the house" I only got to read my emails now. I received a letter from FSW informing me that they have received my payment and that I have received a PER ;D ;D ;D ho ho ho ho ho ho. I am happy to share with you this good news. I hope we all get good news for the coming year ahead.

Cheers ;)

Congratulations. Very well deserved.

And, congratulations to SmartPT,too.

What exactly is classified as "Survival Jobs"?

Waiting to hear from you.

They are generally jobs that one takes on to survive financially. They are usually jobs under the "general labor" category. But they can also be many different things to many different people.

For senior civil engineers, they may have to take on posts as draftsmen.
For experienced dentists, they may have to take on dental assistant posts.
For Your Royal Highness, you might be temporarily relegated to the post of Duchess of North York and share a room with Kate Middleton when she is in town.
For alaindotcom, it can be dancing the tai tai phiss while balancing spinning dishes on his nose.

Here is a link to the youtube channel of Settlement Ontario. If you are headed to Ontario, you might want to subscribe. I am sending the link to a playlist of videos on the subject of alternative jobs.

Hi aba! Once our application reaches the VO it is dependent on the officer handling your application - some may be slow, some fast. Also, importantly, how you have presented your application with the supporting documentation.. If they are very much convinced, they may not request background or security checks... I think... Maybe you may get MR in Jan,God willing... Or even before the end of this year ...

But do you have the line..."We started processing your application on......" in our Ecas?? I think most of thm who got this extra line in LVO have received their MR... By the way, I haven't received mine in hand yet... It's been more than a month since they sent it from London.... Still waiting. They emailed me saying they've sent medical papers and RPRF request... They didn't mention PCC... But I'm sure it'll be there... I am on vacation now, as soon as I hear of the papers I will go back..

Very difficult to control cravings during Christmas... :-(

Especially vacationing at parents home after 6 months and mom feels sad when you don't eat ... Dilemma!! :-)
