I would think what happens is that....one team opens the envelopes, does a completeness check, updates the CAPs in website. Then the package is forwarded to a finance or accounting team to encash CC/BD. Only after this is done the package is forwarded to the Data Entry team to enter our data on their databas software.

The front end teams (Call Centre and Email agents) have access to this database from where they give out information. Thus there is a variation in what the agents say or write Vs the actual situation.

This I have gathered from many forum friends writing to CIC or calling and getting certain information, and just the next day or couple of days later they experience something entirely different. This is also how many offices dealing with lots of customer information, work. So thats the basis of my statement.

Sounds logical?

Yes it does. The only flaw I see is that I would not want to update the CAP numbers till the CC / BD is charged. I need the money in my acount before I update the numbers. Infact the ideal way is to update numbers for which PER has been established.

That is why I hope in future years they update what date applications they have opened to update CAP numbers. That will make things clear.

prapp What I meant was Ajoy the king should come out with the first update as he is 1 Sep applicant, he never gave any details if he paid by CC or DD. He is not regular on this thread , you can send him a message to find out?

My bad RKC. I misunderstood. I will try reach out to him.

Hey 67 is not that bad at all.

Firstly we are all already in the CAP, because there cannot be a backlog of 84 days, in updating CAP in the website. When things were at the peak (NOC 1122 & 3152 were getting processed), even then the backlog was 60 days max. Now they say they have been trying to bridge the gap between appl rcvd and CAP update in website, so it definitely cannot be 84 days. Nowadays folks are rcvng their PERs in that much time (85 tp 90 days).

Secondly, even if it is 84 days, lets assume. The average appl rcvd per day for 0631 has been around 5, steadily. So we still have another 2 weeks to go easily.

The other thing is we are not even sure if they have already started processing payments for Sep applicants, because all our early sep friends have made payments by BD and not CC. So its hard to tell.

Cheer up buddy! We are in!!

the idea that backlog a the peak was 60, then the logic that it should be less by now... but for how many days do u think the backlog may reduce? may it be 50% less?

50% less definitely, I would think. There are lesser number of applications also, compared to July and first half of Aug. So it might even be just 2 to 3 weeks backlog.

All our Sep friends have made BD payments. There arent any who have paid by CC. And as you are aware BD payments take very long to reflect in your bank's database. If there were any with CC, we'd have known immediately (2 to 3 working days).

Bossie - application reached 15th Sep - CC

His should have been encashed by now or in the next 2 3 days if we go by what you have said of the backlog reducing?

They have charged a 3131 app of 29 Aug on 21 Nov & sent PER on Nov 23. Looks like any Sep apps have not been charged as yet.
