In my understanding, ICT candidates will get 50 points for sure if you are in Canada for more than a year. The reason because extension of ICT work-permit extension can be applied on last day of your expiry date so you can work with implied status.
Nowhere CIC mentioned that the workpermit should be valid for another one year after you receive PR.

Can anyone confirm on there recent extended Work Permit (ICT)

I just received my new extended Work Permit (Closed) and saw these 2 changes from my old work permit(closed).

1. The remarks doesn't mention Intra Company Transfer but it was mentioned in the first work permit i got.
2. There was no ESDC/EDSC# on my inital work permit. My renewed work permit has these numbers on it.

Please if any one can confirm these changes to their recent work permit or what these changes mean?

Thanks

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi rg74,

I have only following questions on my EE profile under "Intended to work in Canada"; please note that my profile is eligible under CEC and FSW categories and I'm currently in Canada. I don't have any Canadian education.

Q1: Does FirstName Lastname have a job offer in Canada?
The offer must:
• be for full-time and for at least one year
• meet different requirements depending on type of job (i.e. some need apprenticeships and certification) and
• be non-seasonal for Federal Skilled Workers.
YES

Q2: Information about the job offer
Is this job offer for work that is:
• full-time
• continuous and
• for at least one year?
YES

Q3: Is this job offer for work that is non-seasonal? - YES

Q4: Four digit NOC code - 2171

Q5: Job title: xxx

Q6: Information about the employer or company - ANSWERED TO ALL QUESTIONS
How many employers made this job offer?
Is the employer any of the following (select all that apply):
• An embassy, consulate or high commission in Canada?
• An employer on the list of ineligible employers with the Government of Canada?
• Employer or company name?
• Contact address of employer or company
Intended location of employment in Canada
• Province or territory
• City/town
• Street address

Q7: Information about the Labour Market Impact Assessment
• Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada? - NO
• Is FirstName LastName currently working in Canada? - YES
• Does FirstName LastName have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada? - YES
• Is FirstName LastName 's job offer from the employer named on the current work permit? - YES
• Has FirstName LastName been working full-time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year? (Or for an equal amount of part time
work?) - YES
• Four digit NOC code of current work permit - 2171
• Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the current work permit? - NO

You need a job offer letter that you will work for them 1 yr after becoming PR.

One more thing, Although you claimed 50 points, you never know when you will be called for ITA -- which means 1 year Job doesn't make sense for ICT Workpermit holders.

The other point, assume you nominated in Nov 2016 and processing time takes 6 months approximately and after PR is received, you need 1 year of Job offer - which means - you need atleast 18 - 24 months which is contradicting to one year Job offer request.

My point is, you should gained 1 year exp in Canada with same employer to claim 50 points and you must also be in Canada currently.

Hi RG74,

First of all thanks for the reply. I am also ICT and really not sure what to mark against ""Does <name> have a job offer in Canada?" question. If i mark YES then only i see the options to claim 50 points but if i see "?" against this section it says we should have job offer and LMIA letter. My work permit is also exempt from LMIA so i am not sure what to fill against it. Did you still mark YES even though you dont have LMIA?

You will have to answer a series of question to show this question. If you have a job offer YES , they many other questions will follow. According to my answers this question popped up. Your set of questions changes with your answer choices.

Hope it helps. Thanks

Yes that seems to be correct. I believe there are 2 conditions.

  • You should have completed 1 year with same employer (should have same employer name on work permit)
  • Your employment letter should be indefinite or atleast for one more year

Please visit cic link you need Job offer letter

The candidates must meet certain criteria, such as at least one year of work experience from the same employer who is providing their job offer.

Job offers will only need to be a minimum of one year in duration once they receive permanent residence.

None of the company will give that assurance for 1 yr after PR in letter. The letter normally which company provides they state how they long the person here 12 months or 24 month so who has extended their recently , they are front liners and those whose due to expiry or renew they need to arrange a letter I believe.

You all who are saying that your company cant give letter. You should tell your company the truth that we are applying for PR. And we need a letter that once we become PR we will be doing same job for 1 year atleast.

Fatani,

I understand you are going perfectly right. But there will be few such companies which will give a letter like this. But majority of the companies provide a letter when they extend the WP and that letter would be enough. But anyone can arrange I will second with you.
