Sorry for my many questions below, I’m outside Canada and I’m trying to understand the process a bit more, if anyone can answer the below questions it’ll be very helpful

Did you receive an E-certificate? What if someone is flying out after the ceremony, can they keep their pr card and continue with the ceremony? Can you apply for your first passport from outside Canada

Thank you
You receive an e-certificate only if you have been selected for it or if you applied after 4th Jan 23 and selected it as an option. You have to cut the PR card during the ceremony in front of the officer. If you fly out(If only, the existing passport allows you to do that after taking citizenship of another country) you will need Canada passport to come back and for that you need the citizenship certificate for which you need an address in Canada and may take anywhere between 1-2 weeks to get. You can apply for passport outside Canada with it.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply!
I have give my representative’s address as both residential and mailing address, is that okay? As I live with a friend whenever I am in Canada so I thought it’s better to just have my representatives address

I have no idea about this. Will let others chime in.

Same here :(

I received a vague response from the IRCC when sent a request through the webform asking for credible status update. Seems like it's a generic but at least was sent by a human considering the agent made mistakes while writing i.e. I passed my test in 2022 and not 2023 :)
  • Your application is currently at the IRCC local office in Scarborough. This office is verifying if you meet the eligibility requirements to be granted Canadian citizenship. Rest assured that you will be contacted if additional information is needed.
  • The next step will be to invite you to attend the ceremony. The local office will schedule an appointment for you in due course, if necessary.
  • We are pleased to confirm that you have passed the citizenship test on October 11, 2023.

Feeling very frustrated. LPP still in progress after test in October. While my partner who applied January 2023 has everything completed and just waiting for the Oath.

Anyone tried getting into the IRCC call center? Any tips to get in? Also been emailing the west citizenship email add and first they said they will send my concern to the officer, next they asked me to just wait as the process takes time.

I think with the federal strike going on, there will be even more delays now.

I am in the same boat as you, completed my test on Oct 6th - LPP still in progress. All I can say is as I gave my test outside Canada - It is clear that I have to go through an interview and my background verification is valid until Sep 2023. The officer is just sitting on it as he has all time in this world until September this year. I was very frustrated about the situation as My PR card expired and they have been sitting on that for last 56 days - still waiting to recv the card. I was successful in amending by new Job joining date to June 5th in the UK. If nothing happens in the meantime, i have no go but to leave the country and come back with travel document when my time comes. I have never encountered any country taking 22 months to grant a citizenship who lived in the country as PR holder for 4 years. You are not alone. Just dont sweat on it - if you dont have any other commitments outside the country.

Hello, Please know that you are not alone in this. I completed Test in October and BG completed in March (see my timeline in signature). Tracker says LPP "in progress but GCMS note say "not started". It's been very frustrating as a lot of friends who applied months after me have done Oaths and forgotten about this process. I have a trip in August too, PR expired already and I have submitted a renewal application since March 9th (no AOR for this too yet), so both PR card renewal application and Citizenship application are now on hold with the Strike. I'm hoping one them will go through before my trip in August. Let's keep the faith and hope something happens soon.
