I have the same thing...this is weird...my notes have montreal office for the test...so they transferred back to sydney after?

Did you give your test outside Canada? Looks like everyone who clears the test outside Canada are being directed to Sydney office.

Everyone who took the test outside Canada has to have an interview. That's how my friend explained it to me. Also, our files go in front of a citizenship judge and it depends on how busy his agenda is before scheduling an Oath day for people.

Has anyone appeared for interview in-person? I was talking to a friend and she was invited for in-person interview. Any thoughts as to why someone will be invited for interview in person and not online? I have been scheduled for interview but not sure if it will be online or in-person :/

In-person is better in a sense as many have been given an option to take the Oath after the interview. Online is scalable and in-person has limitation. So they are few in numbers.

i dont have an explanation either but i do have atip and vancouver and sydney was on there. just found out through my MP that my file is with the sydney office. it’s also under rc-8090

Thanks for your reply. So that means, in-person is then better? I didn't know that oath option is given right away for in-person ceremony; iOS this for everyone who get called for in-person or only few? Is there anyone on the forum who had similar experience? My friend didn't tell me regarding being given oath experience. As for me, I am still waiting to hear if its online :/

Its not always that an in-person interview ends up in oath. Nor does the person going to the interview is told about it beforehand. You can search the forum and there are experience shared by applicants (interview + oath)

I completed my oath today. I'll summarize how the ceremony went down in case others might find it helpful.

I joined the zoom meeting 5 minutes early and all I could see was a message: that the meeting will start soon and I should get my IDs ready.
Then the meeting started and you could see people joining, setting up their cameras, adjusting lighting and so on .... One of the officers instructed us to turn our cameras ON and that we will be taken to a pre-registration waiting room.

Then I had a 1-on-1 with an officer who asked to see my PR card and another ID (drivers license). He asked me if I planned to travel soon before the certificate arrived and if I wanted to continue with the oath. He then instructed me to cut the PR card and I did. I also verified my address and he noted my updated mailing address since the web form entry I submitted hasn't made it into the system yet. This part of the process took roughly 5 minutes.

Then I was put back into the post registration waiting room and this lasted close to 45 minutes ... just waiting. When you're put in this room, they change your zoom name from just your seat # to [seat # DONE officer's initials]. Eg. if your seat number was 028 and the agent's initials that verified your Ids was MJ, after completing the id verification, your zoom name will show as: 028 DONE MJ.

Then the master of ceremony made a brief remark and invited the judge. The judge congratulated us and made some more remarks as well. We then watched a short video about Canada followed by the actual oath. Mics were unmuted; basically we repeated the oath after the judge, ALL at the same time. The judge encouraged us to try the French version of the oath as well. After that we got a brief video from the PM welcoming us to the Canadian family. The master of ceremony then asked us to turn our cameras OFF so that we can take a selfie with the judge. They gave us 3 minutes for this.

Then came the anthem (bilingual version) and we were given further instructions on sending the oath form back. That was it. It's been a long process but It finally came to an end for me. Hopefully the certificate will come soon and I'll apply for a passport.

Sorry for my many questions below, I’m outside Canada and I’m trying to understand the process a bit more, if anyone can answer the below questions it’ll be very helpful

Did you receive an E-certificate? What if someone is flying out after the ceremony, can they keep their pr card and continue with the ceremony? Can you apply for your first passport from outside Canada
