@ress -- Ok, so here is what happens when you submit your PRThank you very much phanikiran.kara!
I am not exactly sure what AOR is but i guess it's 2020/07/10 according the letter i have received last month with this note "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 2020/07/10. "
For security I gave by biometrics early in October, actually i am now in canada with an other work permit which i got 6 months after i submitted the pr application. What are security and criminality? I lived in canada for like 6 years and did not have any criminal record. And thank you for the suggesting to call them, but do you know which number it is?
Thanks again.
AR - (Application received) - 2020/07/10
AoR - (Ack of receipt) - One Fine day in 2021/01/??
Eligibility check by IRCC - ?
PAL Letter (Pre-Arrival Services Letter) -- May or May not be issued to Inland folks. Dont worry too much about it.
Criminality Check by IRCC - ?
Security check by IRCC ? --> THIS IS A VERY VAGUE, TIME CONSUMING STEP.
Info. Sharing by IRCC - ?
The criminality checks etc are done by IRCC, not you. You just submit police clearance certificates. They are the ones who need to get convinced that you are a good person. They use multiple ways like Interpol, police records etc. You have no role to play during this process unless they ask you for something. So, call them using the number and instructions below and ask the status of each component above.
-- To avoid followup questions (as there are too many folks in this thread at various stages) --
IRCC number: +1-888-242-2100 (Once the introductory COVID speech is over, press 2-1-0 without listening to each thing that is being said).
Also, I tried 5 times and 5th time it said you are placed in queue. I gave my number and hung up and received a call back. Other times, system said that their agents are very very busy and asked me to hang up and mind my own business .
