Hello, all,

Mother born in Quebec in 1928, I was born in the States in '65- mailed in my proof of citizenship application on Jan 3rd. I see that we are allowed to check the status of our application, but we have to be given some sort of number in order to do this. What i'm wondering is, how and when do they provide me with this number so that I can start tracking the progress? It's only been 2 weeks since I mailed my paperwork, but since they do not allow you to call or email them, I don't even know if the paperwork was received.

Any help with this is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Maggie65,

First thing the IRCC will contact you is thru your email address that you had provided. If you put your email address at your citizenship application form? From there, you'll received a AOR notice from IRCC indicating that they had received your application like most of us here. On that email, includes your Application number starts at C000 and your UCI # still the same. If you didn't include your email address then you'll get your AOR thru mail.

By the way I received my AOR just a few days ago. I'm using my UCI # for checking my eCAS but you can also used the application # whatever that suits you. Try also to check your email inbox and spam maybe IRCC sent your AOR already. Goodluck to all of us...

Hi guys,

Count me in as well:

App sent: January 18, 2017
App delivered: January 20, 2017

Add your information to the excel sheet. You will find it in my signature

just curious - does IRCC send us an email when our application goes into process or do we have to check our application status online to be sure that it is in process ?

I think it is something that you need to check for in ecas only

Once you get your AOR with UCI number you will be able to log in and check your application status. First it says 'application received' and then it changes into 'in process'.

I spoke too hastily.
CIC gaves us 9 AORs on the 17th and 18th but has slowed down since then :(

Hi folks...

My application was returned due to child missing birth certificate. In the letter they mentioned sign, date and mail the application to the following address:

Citizenship Case Processing Centre
PO Box 7000 - Grant
Sydney Nova Scotia
B1P 6V6.

But I mailed to the following courier address:

Case Processing Centre - Sydney Grant Adults
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney nova scotia
B1P 5Z2

The mailing address which they mentioned in the letter is a canada post address but they wrote only Grant instead of writing Grant adults in the address. Did they mean to send application on that particular address which they mentioned in the letter. Is it ok that I sent it on the courier address.

Is it possible that they wrote just Grant for a reason because it was only the child's application that was incomplete. Is it ok that I sent it on the courier address.

If you courier then the address is ok, other address is used for regular mail.
