This one for fellow Manila applicants: Just checked August 2013 applicant spreadsheet. Not sure it's being updated by all Manila applicants there but not one is so far showing even an AOR from Manila office to date (all received SA's in normal time frame). That's not great news if in fact the spreadsheet is accurate. I posted on there (page 70) to ask to hear from Manila applicants & whether it is that slow?! I guess in the CIC official "14-month process time" scheme of things it isn't out of order...but damn that's long!

From my understanding Manila never sends out AOR's :(

Also.. can you log into ECAS yet? I got my AOR two days ago and SA yesterday and still says I cannot be validated when I try and log in!

I still haven't got an SA, so no thoughts of ECAS yet. Manila doesn't send AOR's? Interesting. So they just go to "In Process"? Still, none of the August applicants show that happening either. Oh well, can't do much about it (other than write nasty letters to MP's?!) & no need to get worked up over it I guess....

I'm not sure! Just looking on the different threads people say they never do.

That (no AOR's from Manila VO) has been validated by at least one of the applicants from AUG 2013. He/she seems to think it's currently a 10-month process from SA to getting the visa (assuming of course a complete application). Still waaaay to long for my liking. I really don't get how Hong Kong & other places seem to get it done in 3-4 months. Is it a personnel thing? Hire more people! I suppose there are more nuances dealing with a 3rd world country & all but still you think they'd have it more streamlined by now, geezuz!

I think that Manila might be one of those places that has higher than average fraud, so they do more background checks than some other places. As for adding more staff, the Harper government is cutting staff everywhere as a way of dealing with the federal deficit, so I don't think there's any chance of adding more staff. I don't actually think that an AOR can be expected from any visa office. They are very inconsistent with these things.

Thanks Beshoo, good points. Manila might have one of the highest number of applicants too, and with that goes a higher potential for fraud indeed. I believe Manila also handles countries like Japan now too. True enough too about the realities of our current regime's deficit/funding challenges, I suppose also there aren't as many "enterprise" (or whatever it is they call them) candidates forking out big bucks for visas in the Philippines like they do in Hong Kong.

I finally found my AOR email in my spam folder. It's from "Do Not Reply - Ne Pas Repondre" which is probably how it got marked as spam. I hardly ever look at my spam. It was sent February 28, so someone can update that information on the spreadsheet.

Hi SarahRuiz,

Great to see another applicant from Colombia over here... we are quite scarce...
We were just about to send our police certificate in advance (using our Application Number), when we received an email from the VO asking us for it.
So we sent it last Friday.
We still believe it is a good idea to send it before they ask for it, if you are still wondering...

hello guys can u help us,,, after we receive our CSQ what is next? should my hubby send it to the VO or he can scanned and send it by email? or we send it by fax to Manila Visa Office?

I can finally log into ecas! Although my sponsorship application still says "in process" and a letter has sent.. Even though I got an approval email last week. Lol!

I didnt receive my CSQ yet but from my understanding, your hubby should have received instructions along with the CSQ. If in doubt, maybe he should call MICC at 1-877-864-9191 or the CIC call center 1-888-242-2100.
