Can someone please tell me what financial documentation you submitted with your application?

And for the life of me I can't remember where I worked in 2008 - I was in university and worked at some random call centre in Ottawa. Will my application be returned if I can't find out this information?

Please also tell me what supporting documentaion you included - So far I have pictures, flight itineraries, facebook messages, photocopies of cards from our wedding, and phone records. ;)

The only financial documents we submitted were Option C and our joint bank account - but that was for proof of joint account. I personally submitted no account statements or W2's (T-4 for the USA).... nothing of that type. I wrote where I worked and left it at that.

Proof -

- Cards, all handwritten. From family and each other
- Photos, we had about 12, 4 from wedding. I handwrote names on all of them
- Trips, I separated each trip, itinerary, ticket stubs if possible, passport stamps for me. I also included tickets from a museum trip we took after I moved here
- Yahoo/Skype chat logs. For Yahoo, we had over 700 pages, so I printed a small sample (4 conversations turned out to be 70 pages alone) and also the archive page showing our user names, date and time, and size of conversation. Skype was mostly video calls, so it was copy/paste, make it look pretty and move on.
- Facebook, wall-to-wall and Facebook messages. I removed most pictures from wall-to-wall as they were just silly cat pictures that didn't prove much besides we both like cats.
- Cohabitation, our lease, joint bank account, joint cell phone account, letter from father-in-law, my spouse benefit card

The lady at Canada Post told us we sent too much.

:D

I would have punched her ;) When having to PROVE your relationship is genuine I don't think there's a such thing as to much proof. Our packet was 3.5 in/9cm thick.

Ours was 5cm. My husband and I have only been a couple for 2 years so I felt more proof was a good idea. Sad part is, I have more. Lots more. I didn't bother to send copies of my journals.

Hi, pls advise me on this...as I have said I am already overstayed. Now I am close to gather all d papers. And I am now getting the ploice clearance would I be detected by the police if they run through their computer? thanks

Hi..ccgirl39....So you decide not return to your country even you have already got removal order ?

I still feel like we didn't send in enough proof. We printed out Skype archives, a sampling of Yahoo archives (for some reason we could not retrieve the full log. Frustrating, but I screencapped what YM saved anyway.), snippets of Facetime, iMessage and Viber. My husband went crazy with the photos though, I think he printed about 200. Then we had plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel receipts and other travel related documents. I don't know how M, my husband, organised the whole package though. I hope he did well!

The police clearance from your home country won't effect Canadian authorities at all.

Hi Guys,

Finally! My Husband received an emailed today from CIC, that they received our application last January 10,2013 and we got our file number. Hopefully next week, we are expecting the AOR and Approval of sponsor. In God's grace.
