I was under the impression that new visitor's visa and extensions of visitor status were lumped together under the same processing time. Next time I call CIC, I may ask about that.

What kind of visa do you have now? Which type are you changing to?

If you're in the category of changing from worker/student to visitor, I would definitely call as those applications are fast.

I colored in Kiri to reflect AOR. (Thanks Sweden for the poke!)

As I didn't make the original spreadsheet, I'm not 100% sure which color was used - but it looks to me like it's the correct one.

If anyone has a minute, give it a look. If it's hideously wrong, just let me know. This process will unfortunately repeat for each step of this journey!

I am not sure re the l umping of the visas under the same processing time. I currently have a multiple visa which doesn't expire till 2015. However, the date stamped in my passport upon entering Canada has passed, hence my application to extend visa while awaiting PR approval. I have been visiting annually since 2004 so am a very regular visitor.

So we're starting a new year and need a thread for this month. Sent my package back off today again (former May applicant, see explanation here: CLICK  Case processing center Ottawa, American under common law outland application. Been in Canada 1 year and 7 months thanks to an extension. (minus 3 weeks)

If anyone wants to start and manage a spreadsheet for Jan applicants I will add it to this original post, I'm not too skilled in creating them/maintaining them so any volunteer would be peachy.

Good luck to all!!! Here's to a fast processing year!

I'm still a little confused by it. you cannot extend your stay from an iec visa. I need to change my conditions. I am from a visa exempt country but he iec is not extendable. what do I do here.

I'm working at the moment but come march 14th when this visa expires I want to remain here as a visitor while my pr is processed...

do I apply on the same link to extend my stay or do I have to apply for a whole new visitor visa or record?

sorry if you answered t. I'm just confused by the process...

Hi everyone,
I must admit that I was not that active since my questions about sponsorship applications last year around the same time of the year but I must that now that i applied I am really eager to participate onto your forums. You guys have such a great community, I have been recommending your help and advice to every one I know who are looking for information on sponsorship/immigration. It's really awesome to see people helping each other like that.

Here's the progress of my sponsorship application and Perm.Res application of my wife and I.

We are applying from Ukraine. We are both outside of Canada. We are applying for a Spouse Sponsorship and we are going to live in the Province of Quebec.
Oct. 16th 2012: My wife's medical
Dec.15th 2012: payment of application
Dec. 28th. 20012 : Sent by courrier
Jan. 2nd 2013: date they say they have received the application (courrier gave us in-time notifications on 3rd)
Jan. 22nd 2013: Received the confirmation email from CIC.
Jan. 23rd 2013 : Was accepted as a sponsor by CIC. & My wife perm. residential application was forwarded to Kyiv, Ukraine.

Now I need to apply for undertaking in Quebec. I have two questions:
Should I add any additional documents or letters just like in the Canadian application?
How long does the undertaking application process might take?

PS. anyone knows how to add information (picture, age etc) on your forum profile. ? I can't find the option. The only one I see is to change the passwords.

Hi :) I added you to the January spreadsheet. I'm not sure if you're techinically a December or January applicant, but I figured it couldn't hurt either way.

It's good to see you have Stage 1 done already! That makes me happy :D

On CIC's website, it lists the VO as Kyiv. Is that just a difference in spelling? (Yeah, I look totally ignorant here, sorry.)

Go to your profile, then on the left select "Forum Profile Information." That will let you change your picture and add your timeline too! Plus you can make a signature :)

Here's to a swift application for you!

Boo, they requested another document that I thought was in there. At least they have kept the file!

That'll be overnighted this week.

Congrats on the stage 1 and good luck for stage 2!
For the information on your profile - you need at least 10 posts to be able to do it. As soon as you have posted 10 times, you can follwo the directions from Amikety and add all sorts of things on your profile.

For the CSQ - it takes about 30 days to receive from what I have read on the forum. They send a copy to you, and one copy to your VO. BUt even if it takes a little longer it doesn't matter as your VO would start processing the file even if you don't have the CSQ yet - they only need it at the end, when they finalise the visa, so you have time.
How to apply - normally you have the instructions in the sponsorship email, but I'm not sure- but you can ask a general question on the forum and I'm sure you'll get an answer.
Good luck!

Hey Sweden: How long do you think the missing form if overnighted this week will delay first stage processing? I was only missing one form.

It depends - did you get a name for the officer to send it to? if yes, then usually they look at the file as soon as it's received, and some people have received the approval the same day. If you don't have a name to send it to, it might take a few more days.
Good news is - they have opened your file and they're working on it. 20 days after receiving it, that's quite nice!
Good luck,
Sweden

Yup. The address to send the form to specially says "Officer DQ" - not a full name, but I'm sure they know the initials. This is GREAT news. And looking over the past applicants on the spreadsheets, I think I'm ahead of the game for first stage. Yay.

Well officially they are working on 9th of November applicants, so you're definitely ahead! and if you have an officer's name it should not take long at all ! keep us informed!
