I believe in Justin Trudeau, he has delivered what he promised so far. so we all just need to relax and stay put. Things will get better.

Do you read any news at all ? Anyone who read daily news cannot relax and stay put when their pgwp is going to expire. Time is the only thing int'l students don't have.

Exactly! The new focus of the Liberal govt is refugees and reuniting family members.
We int students are no longer a priority.

I have been looking at international students struggling for more than year, liberal has been in power since more than 4 moths.

I have seen lots of international going back disappointed so all the students should gather and do a press conference bringing up your problems and asking government for a change.

Its now or never

That's a really good idea.
We should all int students share ideas on how we can make any changes.

Everyone see their problem to be the primary. The Govt does not work that way.
Just because student visa was one of the easiest way to get the PR doesn't mean you all should accuse everyone in the path.
it clearly states on the entry document it is a privilege not a right. And it seems like all international students are thinking like its their right and Canadian govt. is obligated to do something.

PS. your screen name says it all how you think :P

I know , Asivad! I din't have how to prove it to CIC. I found out about the frauds afterwards when they were with their PR in hands already. I met them here in Canada and they told me how they "got" their 67 points under the former FSW.
If i find out about any kind of fraud about someone who is working towards their PR, I will definitely speak out. FOR SURE!
And thanks for helping so many members. I really appreciate it! :)

You can lodge an anonymous complaint if you know that someone has defrauded the system. It is the IRCC's job to follow up on your 'tip'. And you will be anonymous throughout the process.

It doesn't matter if they have already received their PR through fraudulent means. Their PR can be revoked if and when IRCC identifies the fraud. Think about it and follow your conscience.

Sometimes i feel PGWP holders should go back to their home country, spend one year, work as "Assistant manager" at their relative's retail store or "techical support engineer" at some cyber caffe, get peanuts as salary and apply as FSW. That way we stand a better chance of getting PR rather than busting our A**** here. We can spend time with family too.

Take it easy Bro... It is a mistake in EE system. The government is fixing it now, hopefully it will be done before everyone runs out their PGWP..

No one demands that pr status must be granted to int'l students because that's absurd. We complain about the recent changes which put int'l students in the same pool with other program's applicants. Before EE, any young and capable int'l student who graduated from a recognized Canadian institute with good english skills and secured a good job would be able to apply for the pr without much difficulties, since (s)he already proved that through her education, working experience and at least 4 years living in Canada.

p/s: do come to my humble fort when you have time. I want to show you my blade collection.

You forgot that before EE process could take several years. Now they process majority of applications in 6 month or less. So there must be some filter. They issue less than 35k ITA per year, and unfortunately it's not enough to give PR for every international student. I believe that government may introduce some additional points, but not for all international students. Only for those who gets Bachelor's and Master's degree in Canada.

Government is gonna give nothing, if international students really want to see some changes they have to get together ASAP and reach government through local media, they will loose this opportunity to reach government via local media once their permit expires, even lots of canadian lawyers are supporting the fact that current system is unfair for international students, so all students should come together contact some lawyers who are supporting them and organize a press conference, and if few such conference are held nation wide , in some provinces than there will definitely be a change soon. ;)

Hey Honeyaustin, did you take a course of probability theory and statistics? Do you remember what is Gaussian (normal) distribution? So CRS score of EE pool has Gaussian distribution, with peak around 350-400 points. Peak was close to 15000 applicants with score between 350-400 back in 2015 [1]. Add those 8770 with 400-450. Basically, that's why score won't drop below 430-450 in near future. And that's also a reason why government can't give additional credit to all international students without breaking the balance. There're too many of them with score below 450, so it's impossible to give credit to anyone who got Canadian education. They just won't be able to pick chosen number of applicants per draw. They'll probably give some points to those with Master's, maybe a bit less to those with Bachelor's degree. Others won't get anything.

According to mid-year statistics [2], 85% of invited applicants are already in Canada. So they're international students and TFWs. Basically, I see no way how government can change situation without going back to old "first come first serve" model. But as past experience shows, it just doesn't work, because if everyone is eligible, backlog becomes enormous.
