International Student points CIC should scrap FSWP stream

If they will give this many points then they should make it a seprate stream with some kind of CAP. Otherwise all of old age will move to canada.

I believe points will also be amended for age, as per the recommendation.

Newzealand is newzealand not canada. If they have this system its their choice and newzealand have this system from the start. If canada is going to change it like nzl then the system now is wrong or the system they will change to will be wrong. Thats why I said scrap the FSW category make only 3 categories PNP, CEC, International students. Because now a person with no canadian connection will not stand a chance.

Following your opinion, then they would have to separate almost everything: Canadian education, French, Siblings... ; That would make no sense.

Presently, many people without these things since decades are getting picked up.

They want to change the scenario by awarding more points for people in the listed categories in order for them to get ITA.

The processing time for family reunification shall be reduced: parents / spouse / kids only and for others it will remain same, as per the recommendations, as of now.

Because in Québec students are amongst the group who are given priority and processing time is 30 days for a selection certificate as compared to years for someone residing in Africa, for instance.

Also, I believe the work experience requirement might become optional and unpaid internship undertaken as part of studies might counts as it is the case in Québec; where students are guaranteed a direct route to PR after graduation without work experience.

If anything I would like to see anyone with family members already in Canada getting fast tracked.

Being apart from your family is more important than believing because you threw money at a Canadian University that you should get priority.

They give 200 points for all relatives not only for siblings. And they are a PNP program most PNP programs are there for people who have canadian connections like jobs, relatives, studies etc etc. Thats why I said that federal program should be unbiased and if they want to give bonus points it should be limited. Or otherwise make it a seperate stream or completely scrap FSWP.

Wrong; Express Entry was copied from the Oceania region. FSWP applicants will still stand a chance without connection if they have French, Canadian education but with only foreign work experience which allows them to apply straightaway after graduation or with high language test scores.

If it was copied from oceania region why they want to change now why they have not started with giving extra points for canadian education like they have given extra points for canadian experience.

For some provinces, it is the case that throwing money at university will get you PR. Federal can copy from that.

Throwing money does not award you the qualification; you need to study hard and north american universities are very tough.

When I study in UK at a top tier university, it was a joke with easy entrance requirement with no admission exam and only A-levels grade A/A+ suffice; in UK you can almost buy education. In Canada, it is completely different; I had a difficult time but you really learn. Also, the entrance requirement is strict and recruitment is very small although they have lots of spaces, unlike the UK where lecture room are crowded. The quality and standard is high in north america, unlike the UK.

There is an reason for that. Some less wanted provinces (like not BC, ON or AL), want to make sure, that you have good enough connections to stay and pay your taxes there. That is why they prefer that much people with connections (family or siblings). But Manitoba is also giving negative points if you have relatives somewhere else in Canada or if you have studied or worked outside Manitoba.

However on federal level it is a bit different story. (For example giving - points for experience, studies or relatives has no sense).


Why not to make it like some provinces do. You want to claim points for Friends or relatives - OK, no problem, but they will be responsible for you for the first 2 years of your settlement. Furthermore your PR will be province bound (to the province where your relatives lives).
If they leave you before that then it has no sence to get points for more adaptability (advice can give almost anybody and it does not have to be somebody close to you). If they are outside Canada, then again we are sorry.

That would be fair handling in that issue.

Because it is copied partially not fully as they more likely inspire from that; now they realize that; there are still major issues which should have been copied!

There might also be fraud; of course on the Canadian side to show that the sibling is a PR/Canadian would not be an issue. But many people in some corrupt countries might fake birth certificate to show tie as sibling...with same parents...
