Hello! Could anyone give me the number of CIC to call regarding my application? I used a representative but so far she haven't really updated me yet, i ordered GCMCs but i dont really understand some of them

Thats my second GCMC's, this one has a page that says
Page 23 is with held pursuant to section 22(1) b of the privacy act.

Also, my passport info is not updated. The pp info that i have there is my old pp which is only until June this year, but i already send my representative the copy of my renewed pp, its not stated on that note though

Hey guys,

I'm an oct 2nd 2015 applicant. I received my DM email on dec 16th 2016. I'm still waiting for an email for my landing interview in montreal. Does anyone have experience with how long it should take to receive the landing interview letter? I just logged into MyCIC and noticed that my appiclation is still "in progress". Is this normal? Thanks

Did u received ur medical request, SA and AIP before receiving ur DM?

You certain it's 22(1)? Are you the PA? Is there a military career? Did you fill out and supply the consent form?

I am a November 2015 and I received the email for landing interview this morning in the Ottawa office. My landing date is 24th of January but I will not be able to attend since I am going to Toronto for training for work from 23rd to 26th. I called CIC and the gentleman sent an email to CIC Ottawa requesting to reschedule the landing interview. Anyone, who has had a similar experience? Senior members please shed some light.

To make Privacy Act or Access To Information requests, you need to supply the consent form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp .

This form authorizes CIC to release personal information about a person to another person. So, if your sponsor was applying for GCMS notes, your sponsor needs you to fill out and sign section A of that consent. Your sponsor would then fill out and sign section C.

Without submitting that, ATIP is obligated to redact that information from the notes to be sent. That said, Section 22 of the Privacy Act is:

Law enforcement and investigation

22 (1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any personal information requested under subsection 12(1)

(a) that was obtained or prepared by any government institution, or part of any government institution, that is an investigative body specified in the regulations in the course of lawful investigations pertaining to

(i) the detection, prevention or suppression of crime,

(ii) the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province, or

(iii) activities suspected of constituting threats to the security of Canada within the meaning of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act, if the information came into existence less than twenty years prior to the request;

(b) the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province or the conduct of lawful investigations, including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, any such information

(i) relating to the existence or nature of a particular investigation,

(ii) that would reveal the identity of a confidential source of information, or

(iii) that was obtained or prepared in the course of an investigation; or

(c) the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the security of penal institutions.

Many have rescheduled...most just email back to the office that wrote and then get a response within a few hours to a day. I've never heard of an office not able to reschedule. Since you still have some time, it should be just fine. If you don't hear after 2 days, just reply back to the email.

you should be able to call your local office to reschedule. My landing letter says to call calgary if I can't attend and has their number

Just spoke to CIC - everything seems to be in order and my file is complete.

unfortunately, the agent didnt know when the landing interview will happen..

the waiting game continues....
