why other's attach their police clearance in canada when they submitted their application? That's why I am planning to get one because I submit my application last dec 8 without the RCMP clearance...Or should I wait for the VO to request me one? TIA...

Do I need to provide a police certificate for my time in Canada?

You do not need a police certificate for your time in Canada if you are applying for permanent residence from within Canada in one of the following categories:

live-in caregiver;
humanitarian and compassionate considerations;
temporary resident permit holder;
spouse or common-law partner; or
protected person or Convention refugee.

Is this meaning something? Is automated procedure for everyone? Or maybe thay start with my application finaly?

Thank you

Hello Everyone !!

I am new to this forum. I am a future inland applicant. :D My Fiance is on a PR visa and we will be getting married in May. I plan to go along with him after wedding and apply for as Inland Applicant. Please advise me on documents that I need to arrange now and to be carried along when i go. As per my understanding I need to do my Medicals and get PCC upfront. I welcome suggestions on this

Depending on what country you are from, you are advised to apply outland for PR. It is much much faster than inland processing. Plus you CAN apply OUTLAND while you are in Canada.

Hi Screech !! I am from India and the processing time is almost more than 2 yrs even as Outland Applicant. If I apply as Inland I will be eligible to apply for Open Work Permit. So i am looking at the Inland option.

Hi there everyone..
Our situation is very complicated,but just wondering maybe there's someone here with the same
situation...
My work permit expired December 2014,while waiting for LMIA to get approved I applied for restoration.
Then we hired an immigration consultant to process our sponsorship.
My husband applied for an Inland sponsorship last March 23,2015
We received application no. on May 13,2015
LMIA got approved APril 2015 but got denied with work permit application.
I'm currently out of status, I didnt get my OWP that we applied together with the sponsorship.
We've been advised that its going to take 10 months for AIP,was the 10 months starts from the month they
received it or when they sent the AOR?
I've been out of work for months and waiting can be a little more frustating.. :(
I'm hoping someone can give an advise or have the same situation... TIA..
GODBLESS us ALL!!! ;)

AIP currently takes ~ 18 months from the day that CIC received the application, so I'd guess you should see it sometime later this year.

Of course, the processing times could get better between now and then.

Hi everyone.

My husband and I submitted our sponsorship application on October 9, 2015. We also included an application for his open work permit at the same time. We haven’t heard anything from CIC - not even to confirm receipt of our application or to provide us with an application number. The CIC website has been very inconsistent in updating its processing time information (last week it said they working on work permit applications dated October 3, 2015, and today it says they’re working on applications dated May 10, 2015). I tried calling CIC, but since we don’t have an application number, I can’t get through the automated system.

It’s very frustrating to keep waiting without knowing when his work permit will come or how we might be able to check the status of his application. I appreciate any advice or insight you might have.

Thanks so much.

This has probably been answered already but I can't find any information. Can the person that is being sponsored leave Canada throughout this process? My boyfriend has a multi entry study visa and we would like to go on vacation together. I have heard that he shouldn't leave Canada until a decision has been made on our application. Is this true? Thanks for your help

He can leave Canada for vacation however if he get denied back into Canada then he is screwed. He would have to redo his application again and submit it outland. So consider the risks however small and make a decision.

I applied October 2nd. I called the centre last week and the agent told me that the processing times posted online are NOT for OWP's submitted through the pilot program. You can basically ignore the times posted online. The processing time for inland OWP's is 4 months. There is no point in calling before the 4-month mark. There is also a way to get through the automated system but I swear I only find the right combination of buttons half the time I call...

There's nothing we can do until 4 months. And I have a feeling that when I call on February 2nd (my 4 months), they will tell me that it's probably in process and to call back again in two weeks. If it helps, no other October applicants have received any correspondence.

Thanks so much for your response. It definitely helps to know that we're not alone in hearing nothing from CIC. :/ Should we be expecting an email or snail mail once we receive the OWP?
