I discovered this forum and the fact that I can apply outland AFTER I've submitted my inland application...

Spouse-common law inland application app. The package was delivered on September 30th 2015 according to Canada Post tracking.

After reading all the info I am bit concerned about travelling outside while my application is in process.

Some info:
Chinese citizen. In Vancouver Canada since 2008 (age of 17 back then), did a bachelor in Canada and currently enrolled at UBC for a MSc degree. Have a Study Permit valid till Aug 2016.
Met my spouse in 2011, been co-habiting since mid-2012...
CLB10+ (IELTS 8.5)

Did not apply for a OWP because I thought I can just get the 3-year Post-grad work permit after my program at UBC.

I am planning to travel to Australia for a short vacation (10days) with my parents (not with my canadian spouse), could someone tell me what's the risk of being refused for re-entry when I come back? Thank you.

No one can tell you the risk. It's at the border officer's discretion. They don't have to let you back in. I wouldn't do it because it's risky.

Thanks, I added you!

And to be honest... If I were you, I would withdraw my inland app and apply outland. It would be so much faster.

Good Afternoon, can you please add me to the list also...I cant wait for my work permit, I am bored out of my mind, I tried to sign up for English classes but you have to pay until you get your Work permit papers...how long do you think I will wait for the work permit? The website says 100 days but I have not even received an email about it yet. Good luck to everyone!

Hello! I went to Service Canada today and obtained my SIN!

Also, I called the RAMQ (Quebec Heath Insurance) to have more information about the process. In the FAQ it says: "With case type 27 OWP you are eligible to health insurance in every province but Quebec." as well as "You are eligible to health coverage [in Quebec] if you received your OWP under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class AND you have a CSQ."

Just in case some people would like to know, the RAMQ told me that you can get health coverage with type 27 OWP + CSQ only after getting AIP.

Hope this helps! ;)
