My situation is something similar but I got my SA and AIP next day it was on January.... But until now I haven't received OWP or DM.... I was wondering if ur husband has done Medicals n it's update
Hello Robin Philip,

Yes my husband has done his medicals and they have been received. The last correspondence we had with immigration was a request for proof of address, there was a mix up with my husbands application and my UIC account, the lawyer had changed my address to our new house but forgot to change my husbands! It was all sorted out and easily explainable but we just assumed that that had really slowed down our processing :(

It's like the persons answering the phone have no idea what the updated information is and just don't care. Seriously how can you not be given updated information.

They requested additional proof of cohabitation November 24, 2016 and I submitted them December 1, 2016. So I still don't understand what is causing the hold up.
Gloria, did they acknowledge receipt of the updated information?

Wow @ 20 months. Unbelievable!!! Have you tried contacting your MP? Did you submit your application through a lawyer?

Hello, thank you very much for the reply! No I haven't order my GCMS notes and I don't really know what those are to be honest, how would I go about ordering them? I think I will contact my local MP and see what can be done about requesting them to contact IRCC. Thank you for the encouragement, we are very excited to meet the new addition to our family and just want to start our lives already!
GCMS (Global Case Management System) notes are all governmental notes regarding your application. You can order them under the Privacy Act (free) as you are from within Canada. You fill one for the sponsor and one for the principal applicant. You will get them in a month. This will allow you to see if there is any mistake in the information they entered or if anything is missing.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp

The Access to Information Act would give you the same, but would cost 5$, so make sure to use to request your GCMS notes under the Privacy Act.

Similar to Gloria, we are reaching 19 months now. I contacted our MP twice already, but he is told the same bs... that the processing time in 26 months, so just wait. I'm waiting the release of statistics on open.canada.ca for the 4th trimester of 2016 which should be done within a few weeks. Official stats at the end of the 3rd trimester showed that the processing time was 23 months for inland spousal sponsorship applications. I'm sure it will be much shorter for the end of the 4th trimester. With the official report in hands, I'm sure the MP would be able to make it move even if IRCC will continue to say 26 months.

It isn't a lie. If you look at CIC website and processing times, it says for apps submitted inland before Dec 2016, it is 26 months. For apps processed after Dec 2016, it is 12 months. The agent at the call centre is correct. You are still within processing times.

Actually, just fill out one of these: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp (PA is section A, Sponsor is section C, sign and date), then have the sponsor apply for the notes. They will send it in one package with no redacted parts (you cannot request the private/personal information of another person without the consent form).

Not true, even official statistical reports showed it was 23 months at the end of the 3rd trimester...

Yep but their website shows 26 months. If you look at the stats, only a small % take 26 months. So they tell you it is 26 months, even if the "average" is 23... Cause if you were waiting 26 but their website says processed in 23 months, then they would be lying. 26 is worse case scenario. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

I know the website tells 26 months; this is the whole point, that is the lie! The 26 months is supposed to be the average time to process 80% of applications. The 23 months I am talking about, is the exact same thing, average time to process 80% of applications, but official statistics. So the official statistics released at the end of the 3rd trimester (sept 2016) was 23 months. IRCC continues to say 26, but official stats shows it is shorter than that. Stats for the December 2016 will be released within few weeks, I'm sure it will be below 20 months, likely below 18 months. But IRCC will continue to say 26 months, because then you cannot complain of anything if you did not reach 26 months.

It's pretty hard to not be approved as a sponsor. Especially in your case. Unless you have a rap sheet that includes domestic violence, or are (or plan to be) actively receiving Social Assistance, you're pretty much guaranteed to be approved. Of course, that's assuming there is no other open sponsorships happening.
