Strangely no contact information was provided, well, when I say strangely, I should say: as per my expectations.

They give me the phone number for the call center... looks like I'll be calling the center a few times tomorrow.

I'll figure out what they want from me one way or another, maybe I'll have to just show up there and ask them.

It should be at the very beginning of your letter when it says in bold letters that Failure to appear for this interview will be perceived as a lack of interest..., in my letter a fax number follows this sentence, to inform them if you cannot attend. But you should be able to send them a reply, a got my letter from WST-LandingEnquiries@cic.gc.ca, and it also says that I can inform them via this email address.

For me that bold section is near the end of my letter. The only number listed is the call center number. No email address, no fax address.

I don't know why am I surprised that such a simple thing like the wording of a landing letter is not the same for all applicants.

I'm sure they are paying a government employee $80k/year with benefits and a pension plan to manually type out each landing letter. Sometimes they make mistakes with Ctrl+c,Ctrl+v and this is the result, but they'll never be fired.

I'm sure the systems they are running don't have Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V. From the looks of CIC's processes they are running something that has a built-in green screen.
You probably need punch-cards to run it.

The reason CIC doesn't do electronic applications anymore was because it took over a thousand punch cards per application.

Yes, we landed yesterday in Edmonton as well! So glad to be done with all this. The officer told me I have to wait for the card to get my permanent sin, but people in the FB group have been saying it's not the case. Were you able to get your sin before the card arrived?

LAKEWOOD did you wait a long time or were you one first ones?

I got mine in Calgary a few minutes after I landed. Just go to service Canada and bring the COPR and you should be able to get your new SIN.

Etobicoke office actually encouraged landed applicants to get their SIN immediately since there's a Service Canada kiosk in the same building downstairs.

Thanks guys, I'll do that! +1!

I am seriously angry at the CIC. 17 months to first stage is a very cruel thing to do us. It just seems like a cruel joke. Are just sitting at their desks playing solitaire all day while our applications collect dust in closets? Are they laughing all the way to bank? Why is this happening to us? Why is CIC being so cruel to us? Do they not realise we are actual humans with feelings and that just maybe we would like to move on with our lives?

They are dragging this out for absolutely no logical reason. They are threatening the stability of our relationships, our financial situations, our LIVES!!! And for what? What is the reason they are doing this?

Incompetence.

I talked to the call center regarding my letter. They wouldn't even pull up my file, instead they just told me that anything that doesn't appear in ECAS doesn't exist.

Such morons...

Seriously, my all my ECAS says is "Began processing January 24, 2015".
