Hello Members,

Good luck on your applications.

Has anyone on this forum applied as a principal applicant on a postgraduate work permit with a sponsor who is a Canadian citizen and that you are both in a common-law relationship (approved by a Notary Public)?

Did you have to forgo your PGWP if it was still valid for another 2 years?
What is your experience so far in terms of communication from CIC?

Thanks everyone for your input.

Hi,

I'm sponsor.. my wife is main applicant..

My wife was given birth to my baby couple weeks ago in Canada. so my baby became Canadian Citizenship.. but what do we inform to CIC? do we fill any form?

Technically, yes, you are supposed to inform them of family composition changes.

You update your "Supplemental family information" form, IMM 5406, and list the child on that form. You submit the updated form. Because the child was born in Canada, the baby is not added to any other form. It's really NOT a "big deal" because it doesn't impact the processing of the application at all (well, maybe if there were relationship concerns...)

Just got DM on e-Cas. Woohooo

congrats. which office? also has the appicant ever received any emails from CIC? I ask this because emails go out before e-cas updates and I have to check e-cas always. never get emails.

I'm in Montreal, never got any email, the only email that i got is the SA 3 days ago. No AIP. Today i checked on ecas and says Decision made.
That's it.

Website updated, another 1 day of progress.

Back up to 506 days of backlog, only 20 days away from the 5-year record high (achieved in May 2015).

If 2014 is any indication of progress to come, CIC generally takes all of August off, just like regular Canadians.

yeah absolutely same as mine. Do post how you receive the invitation letter when you do. Just worried if there's a communication issue with the applicant email.
