agree with this... we've sent out the OWP application mid jan, haven't heard anything back yet...

I sent my papers for PR on 13. December and I received an e-mail 4 days ago that they received my paper, so it takes 2 and a half months for the first respond.

Honestly, CIC doesn't always send the AOR, many people just call and find out over the phone.

Same here, I don't think I'll hear anything back.

Just being honest.

IMO, we all should seek to post our story thru media... CBC. already has asked people in limbo to post their stories....

Hi everyone,

I appliead last year month of July 2014 and revived AOR August 2014, I was already planning to apply for open work permit after I read the news that it is already possible, but, last January I just found out I am pregnant. My working permit will expire this coming month of May, is there anyone who has the same case or anyone who have any idea or advice to give which is better to do, to apply still open work permit or just to extend my visa? I don't know yet how much it will cost for visa or for the open work permit. If I apply for open work permit still I need to wait, I am not sure if I can still work during the time before my delivery. Please help for a better decision to make. Thank you in advance.

apply for the OWP under the PR pilot program. even if you don't work during pregnancy, you will be able to extend your OHIP.

How did you get so lucky? According to your timeline, you applied in June 2014.

Did you have an issue with CBSA (out of status) and they requested that CIC expedite your application?

Yes i had an issue with CBSA and the first stage was expedited but the second stage was within CIC time frame of about 8 months.

The fun thing about zero transparency and zero accountability is that the entire world could be told that CIC is a terribly decrepit process, running on clay tablets and hammers, and it doesn't matter. Their meal ticket is already printed and never expires.

Agree... but I will be expecting an OWP coming in the mail sometime around June though... otherwise I'll call to follow up with them

It took 2 months for me to get AIP after it was expedited and yes you can see changes on ECAS. The second stage on the other hand just takes the normal processing time.

Any way to find out if my OWP application was received? I just sent it 2 weeks ago.
