Hi,
Sept 2014 application:

Work permit issued by CIC on 22 January.

We haven't still received it.

Can anyone who has received theirs, advise how long it took them to receive it after the date it was issued ?

6 weeks is the length of time CIC will wait until they consider anything "lost" in the mail, this doesn't mean it takes 6 weeks for mail to be delivered from CIC. for the most part, communication from CIC takes a lot less time. it's just they won't do anything about you not getting it until 6 weeks has passed since it was mailed out.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum - I asked this question as a separate post, but perhaps it was better to enquire here.

My husband and I are ready to submit our spousal inland application - the only catch is that we're missing the US police check. He is a UK resident and lived there for his entire life except a 2 year period in Chicago - hence the US police check. We have his UK police check, and are thinking we'll submit the application, noting that the US check is outstanding in a cover letter, but we're expecting it within next 8 weeks.

We prefer not to wait for US police check as it'll stale date the UK police check, which I feel should be the more important of the two.

Has anyone done something similar and not be denied because of it!

Thank you in advance!

It's usually not a problem, but...the FBI check is now taking 16-18 weeks.

I think you should apply outland. With inland you have a chance to get the work permit in 4 months, but who knows how fast will you actually get it. After that, you have still two more years waiting, and worrying if everything will go well with your application.
If you apply outland you can still live together in Canada and he can be a permanent resident and forget all immigration nightmare in 3-8 months.

Me, my husband and our daughter planning to go USA for my daughter's one year old birthday for a week.

My question is:

(1) My husband is American Citizen and he got is OWP just recently (January 22, 2015). Can he go outside canada and re-enter again while he has spouse inland process on going?

(2) Can I re-enter canada using my Permanent resident card under my maiden name? (Card will expired on 01-2017) But my passport already changed to my married name. Can I provide marriage certificate?

Thank you all.

Hello folks,

I applied for OWP under the Pilot Project. As I didn't submit an OWP application along with my PR application, I mailed to CPC-Vegreville in December 2014; since then I haven't heard anything.

Have you guys received AOR for the OWP mailed after December 2014?

Cheers,

1) he can go outside, coming back is depends on the officer. As a US citizen with OWP the chance is very low that he will be denied, but there is always some risk.
2) with a copy of your marriage certificate you should be alright.

I've sent mine in January, it's going to be about 5 months. So I was told here. CIC is doing the ones sent before dec 22nd,2014 and those will be done in 4 months.

The risk is EXTREMELY Minimal, like 1%...

Out of the 100`s of people that have left and re-entered canada during this process (even before they had a OWP) can anyone on here name more than 1 person who was denied entry....
