Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and wanted to have my info (below) added to the spreadsheet. My husband (Canadian citizen) and I (foreign student) sent in a sponsorship application in June, and we're just patiently waiting even though the processing times seem to be increasing each time I check the CIC website! I'm here on a study permit (expires Dec 2017), but I just finished my two year masters program and sent in an application for a PGWP this month. I'm hoping my sponsorship application won't interfere with my PGWP application, as I just got a new job and I don't want to stop working. Is there anyone in this thread with a similar situation?

Application submitted: June 5, 2014
AOR: August 8, 2014
I did not send medicals with my application due to the long wait times. I was afraid they would expire before they even begin processing.

Welcome here, I've added you to the spreadsheet. I don't have experience with PGW, but I'm sure that someone else will be able to answer your question.

PGWP application should have no effect on your sponsorship application as far as I know. They are two separate streams one is for temporary residence (PGWP) the other is for permanent residence (sponsorship).

Just out of curiosity how are you working on a study permit?

Nope.. no interfere at all.
Your PGWP will be processed separately based on you have Canadian degree, you should receive it very soon.. your PR application will be processed based on your relationship with your sponsor.

I really can't believe what have just happened to me.
I made new topic on this forum to send CIC minister Pink Ice cream ,Sarcastically... Guess what the moderator deleted my topic. :-X
I created another topic to complain about deleting my previous topic named it " My topic was deleted" and for the second time in row my second topic was deleted .
Now I am just writing this to share what happen with everybody... I don't know how the moderators will react to my post this time... this behavior just remind me of the actions of developing countries ones when they shut up anyone says a word against them.
with all my post of today in here& Facebook and Twiter, I am sure my application will never get approved and I will be in a queue for interview which will not take place unless the Librs step the conservative a side. ::)
My actions and I take full responsibility of it.

I did submit last August an application for spousal sponsorship and I didn't put the application for open work permit together with my application and now I'm out of status because my work permit was expired last sept 19, 2014! Just wondering if I can still submit an application for open work permit and pay the restoration fee or is it okay if I just wait till the first stage approval of my application before i submit an application for open work permit. Just found out my employer didn't renew my working permit. I'm not working right now and currently on maternity leave..

Hi!

I just want to ask some advice about my situation. My work permit expired last May 30, 2014 and i applied for extension but got refused and i received my refusal letter last July 12, 2014 and it says that i have 90 days to restore my status it will end by October 12, 2014. So, last September 18, 2014 i applied for visit visa because my husband is going to sponsor me and he's Canadian Citizen as well, but then I applied through mail because I'm having trouble downloading files online so my application will take about 55 days . We've been together for almost 3 years now and we just got married last September 03, 2014. He doesn't want me to go back home that's why we're planning to apply inside Canada. I just want to ask if do we need to wait for the result of my application for visit visa before we submit the application? Because right now i don't know what to put in my GENERIC APPLICATION FORM (IMM 0008) Question no. 10 CURRENT COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE (COUNTRY, STATUS, OTHER and DATE FROM-TO) or I need to go back home and process everything there? or is there any other option? Please help.. Thank you!

Don't wait for the visa to be approved. You can simply mail your application to CIC. Where you from? Check CIC processing time for your home country, if it one of those countries that has 12 month or less for approving sponsorship, then mail your application out land while you are in Canada still.

If I were you; I would submit the work permit and restoration fees just to make sure you are abiding by the rules. Some seniors says you can't sent WP after the application been received, but I didn't find any word from CIC against that.

I have an OCWP so I can work full-time under implied status until my PGWP is approved.

. So do I have to use the imm5710 form? If I do, do I have to attached the letter from cic that they received my application or doesn't have to? Where do I send the application for open work permit? I read some of the forum sometimes they get refused because they do not locate the application if it's not together with the sponsorship application?
