I dont understand how or why you would be denied at the boarder if you have a valid work permit.... it doesn't make any sense at all. The Work Permit proves that you can come into Canada and work, what else would they possibly need. Without a Work permit then yes I understand as you just turn up at the boarder with absolutely nothing.
You have to remember that with your work visa, it is still temporary. Not a permanent work visa. You seems to forget that tidbit part. The study visa, work visa and visitor visa are all temporary.

The border agent has allowed the foreign national to come in on their TEMPORARY work visa on the premise that you are staying in Canada to do your job that you are brought in for until the end of your visa. The moment you leave Canada, you pretty much forfeit your right to stay in Canada and have to convince the border to let you back in.

It is no difference from me having a temporary TN US work visa. Anytime I leave US to visit Canada, I am always at risk to being denied re-entry and once that happens, there is nothing I can do about it.

Hi All, am submitting our Inland apps soonest, all the supporting docs gotten, i just want to ask that what additional proofs we will be needing to show that the relationship is genuine and continuing. Because we had add all proofs we have in our disposal, pictures of outings from when we met up to present moment, detailed history of how the relationship developed, life insurance, lease agreement, joint bank account, wedding ceremony and big reception, marriage cert issued in Alberta and so on to mention some but few. I just want to know if there is anything we are still missing as we will be submitting 2nd week of August by the grace of God
Thanks all

You can leave Canada at any time for vacation. The issue is the ability to re-enter Canada. Regardless of having an OWP and or AIP letter, the odds of being denied re-entry is still there. Having an OWP or AIP letter doesn't guarantee your entry back into Canada. It does reduce the chances of being denied but not eliminate it.

As other senior members have mentioned there have been postings (I haven't seen these posts myself) that despite having OWP, they were denied. These people are in the very small minority but it has happened.

I think that if apart from the open work permit, you get an actual job and have a letter from an employer and/or a contract, your chances of being denied re-entry after your vacation are very small. The officer would be hurting a Canadian company if they denied one of their employees to come back out of the blue, so they would need a very valid reason to deny you. A very good reason, not "just because".

These two timeline applicants are US applicants. So it is expected that the timeline for US outland are much much quicker and desirable. One of the main reasons people from US are strongly advised to apply outland.

While outland applicants do enjoy a quicker timeline, in your case, from England, your timeline would definitely be quicker than inland but may not be as short as these 2 US applicants.

It is advised to wait till you get an AOR, so you can send your docs with an application number. I heard different things about submitting more supporting documents during the process, some people think it can delay your process.
I think that if you have a good case, you don't need to submit more pictures, and if you have a real red flag, than a couple more pictures won't save you from an interview.

There's a spreadsheet for outland via London in my signature. Average processing time for applications via London is about 6-7 months.

It's not like you weren't told this when you started asking questions about applying in March 2013... http://britishexpats.com/forum/immigration-citizenship-33/applying-pr-common-law-outland-790284/
