Despite how awesome this forum is, it is worth to spend $200 on an immigration lawyer and have him/her/them check out your filled forms and let you know if there is anything you're missing. Good luck for the next time!

HELP! We got our application back again! This time it says we need to include a current IMM008, IMM5669 and IMM5406 and it has underlined for all dependent children whether applicable or not. I don't get it. We did these forms. Are we supposed to do one for each child of his even though they are adults with their own lives and are remaining in the USA?? I don't get it! Someone help me figure this out, please!

"you must provide a current and completed generic application form for Canada (IMM0008) information for the principal applicant and all dependants, if applicable, whether accompanying or not refer to cic website at.."

It says the same thing for the other 2 forms as well..

Ok..just noticed the IMM008 we sent in, for some reason the dependent section is not even there! Not even on the pdf fillable for addition of that info. Not sure why! So once we complete a proper IMM008, it's only the applicant for PR who does that, right?

5669 is only done by the applicant, correct? 5406 done by applicant for PR and his 2 kids as well even though they are not moving to Canada?

Hi guys!

I'm just wondering, my wife ended here contract as Live In Caregiver last July 2013. And now she's a housewife looking after our son an under ML. She had a work permit until September 2014, if her permit expires what will be het status then? Is implied status or nothing? Do we need to apply for her extension visa?
Since you sent an OWP with your app, she should be fine.

Hey guys, just wondering what are the odds of getting the work permit along with the AOR if I sent my application on March 2014?
You are eligible to apply for work permit after AIP, as it looks like, sometime early next year.

I really don't want to do that. I assume if they found our IMM008 was incomplete they have checked the documents and that is all they found wrong. I hope.

For the IMM 5406; does my husband, who is the one applying for PR, have to fill out a 5406 for my children who are Canadians who would be his step-children by marriage? By the instructions it seems he would not have to, but want to check.

The husband would have to list all children including step children in the family form. Even though they are Canadians, they still need to be listed in family form 5406. Section B does say to include all sons/daughters and all adopted and step children)

Does CIC have any issue with forms being filled out by hand and not on the comp?
There are no issues in forms being filled out by hand. It just makes it a little more work on CIC to transfer the info into their system by hand and increase chances of spelling errors. Plus you could miss out part of the form that needed to be filled but overlooked. This may cause the application to be returned due to "incomplete application".

By having the forms printed up on computer and validating the forms makes it easier for CiC to input the info the system by scanning the bar codes. Also by validating the forms, it also confirm that there are no "blanked" information that may cause the application to be returned due to incomplete application.

5669 - Background Declaration. Is this just completed by the person applying for PR? Or me too as sponsor? Children? His kids, mine who are Canadian?

It is completed by the applicant and the applicant's children 18 or older applying for PR.

His children are not applying for PR.
This is from the CIC site. So we have to do them for his kids, whether they are coming or not. My question was do we have to complete them for my kids, his step-kids who are already here and Canadians?

Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
Who must fill out this application form?

This form must be completed by:

you, the principal applicant;
your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
your dependent children aged 18 years or older (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
