My wife has been waiting 3 months now (landed on April 16th) and still no sign of PR card.
How long can it possibly take to print a frigging plastic card???

The card is actually made via trial and error. They make a random card, if it matches your info they mail it out, if not they try again.

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason why you are worried about the PR card?

Well you can't really travel back into Canada without it, other than that it's not needed for anything. I guess it could be the principle behind it. That is a rather extraordinary length of time for a card.

Actually if you travel by car to the US all you need is your COPR. And if you're from a visa exempt country you should have no issue traveling by air. My partner recently did this and just presented her COPR to the customs agent at YVR. Easy.

Oh, we are not 'worried' about the PR card. I just feel like this is the last piece of the long immigration process and we are still not completely done without receiving the card.

If it takes 21 months for me to get first stage I'm going to go completely insane.

But on a more serious note...
Wooooooow CIC, only 21 months for First Stage. Absolutely pathetic.
They're honestly so terrible it's a joke.

Thanks for this assurance.
I need to go to the US (just 45 min drive from here)---and was worried about not having a PR card to present on return.

I'll relax and hope to use my landing document.

Finally on July 13 got DM :D
Almost done!!

I was referring to the person who was from a visa-requiring country. If you are american there is no problem, no difference than any other time.

Congrats on DM and other progress, guys!
