What is the difference between SA and AIP?

SA should be the sponsorship approved, AIP should be the second part got approved.
This is how i understand it.

Actually it's SA means spousal approval. The sponsor is approved to qualify for sponsorship.

AIP means Approved in Principle. Meaning the applicant is qualified and approved for sponsorship.

I called cic office if they have received my second medical check, they said it can take three months to show up on their system.
Is that true?
I did my medical on Apr 3 and totally finished it on Apr 8(special condition have to do the test separately in different town)

From what I have seen of other people's experiences on this forum, sometimes the medical results show up very quickly (within a week or two), other times about a month later, and sometimes not at all - people get a landing notice before the medical results are ever displayed on ecas. I am in the same boat as you - my partner finished her medical exam on April 9. What we did was send the medical exam notification printout to them by expresspost. So the officer will receive the written notification that the exam is complete this week, even if they have to wait a few weeks for the full results to be registered in the computer system. I am hoping that this will prevent them from asking us to complete a medical exam and putting our application back to the bottom of the pile.

Your partner send the notification printout to them by expresspost? Is this necessary to do or you just want them to get notice early?

Finally got my landing date in Ottawa for April 21 after waiting almost 7 weeks since DM email!!!!! Thank God the end of this long journey is near.

I don't actually know if it's necessary or not. What I found in the CIC instruction manual was this:

"Once your medical exam has been completed, the doctor will give you a document confirming that you underwent a medical exam. You must include a copy of that document with your application."

However they are only talking about the case where you do an upfront medical exam before you submit your application. They do not have instructions for our situations, where we do an upfront partway through the process (in my case we did it later because we did not want to have to pay for and do the exam twice). I sent it to them to be safe, so they can't come back at me and tell me I didn't submit it.

Someone got AIP today in FB group. Her AOR date was Jan. 16, 2014..

Your post made me log in to just check on my status, and the same thing is happening to me. My husband received, what I assume is the AIP email, saying that he'd been approved as a sponsor on April 7. Then today when I logged in, it says DM on both his and my section. But, I received no email. Maybe it's coming snail mail? I just don't get why it's sometimes email and sometimes regular mail.

Has this happened to others?
i called CIC and they confirmed that I have been approved for the PR status, the next step is landing interview. They will just send me another email to schedule the time.
