The waiting continues but with some good news. I received my OWP on Tuesday (I applied by paper application in November after AIP).
Still waiting for my landing date since Jan 15th. I will apply for the temporary SIN and try to find work asap and hope this will all be over soon.

I am glad CIC seems to pick up the pace in the early part of the month, but the disorganization and long wait times are outrageous. They really
seem to just inch forward.

Congrats to all who have completed their journeys and the small victories along the way.

Hi all of you
I received the DM email today!!!!!!! Agust 2nd 2013 Montreal applicant!

For the Montreal applicants who received yours how many days between DM email and landing email?

Thank you guys!

I received DM on the Jan 30, 2015 and until now I am waiting for the interview date. By the way, you will not receive the interview date at all for the next step. Probably tomorrow Montreal CIC will send you via email or Canada post few paper to fill up in order to confirm your identification and guide for the PR photos. That's the pre-landing and then you need to reply back to them after filling it up via email or Canada Post.

Well I finally have a bit of good news to share! My husband got a call from our lawyer today as he was on the way home from work. Apparently our lawyer had been speaking with the officer that has been working on our files, and told my husband "congratulations, you're all done. You should be landing in about a month." Of course, I'm taking this with a grain of salt until I get physical proof, our lawyer said he would meet with my husband tomorrow to go over the details. I'm wanting to get super excited but I'm afraid to at this point! Is it possible that we finally have AIP and DM?? That would be the greatest Valentine's present!

My husband landed yesterday and we are now just waiting on the PR card which currently says 26 days processing time.

At the landing interview they put a lot of emphasis on the "confirmation of permanent residence form", stating that the form has to be kept in its original condition in order to receive a canada pension, among many other things. The woman indicated that it couldn't be laminated, copied, nothing. Also, that you cannot get a replacement if this one is lost. When we left, we thought that was quite weird. A little piece of paper determines whether or not you receive canada pension etc. What if your house burns down and the paper along with it?... I just don't understand how you can lose a passport and get another, a birth certificate and get another, your pr card and get another, but can't lose an immigration document confirming your permanent resident status?

Anyone else know anything about this? Because if this is the case, I guess we better get a fire proof lock box.

They do say that, and yes that's the policy. You will be in trouble when it comes to pensions, if you loose this.

A fire proof lock box sound like a good idea

Hi rrsweet. Yes so weird but apparently that is true. My friend who just acquired citizenship had to look everywhere just to find that piece of paper. So make sure that you keep it in a save place. Oh well.

Thanks Alexandre1610
I don't know why it's a little bit different here in Quebec than other provinces but that's the way it is.

thanks for your response. Let's wait for great news
