I just feel so stupid for trusting on advice that the "USELESS " ccagents (as I referred to them a couple days ago ) . My passport was seized by CiCEdmonton due to a refugee claim I did 4 years ago , I sent so many faxes to this local office about that ( last fax was 10 days ago ) . I also called cc so many times asking about what I should do about my passport , they always told me " don't worry , they will have your passport for you on that day " ,
So , just to make sure I sent letters and faxes to cic edmonton to confirm this ( they never replied though ) .
Today , I reminded this to the first agent I met at cic's front counter , then she checked my appointment letter , my 2 photos , and just told me that everything is fine and just wait at the waiting seats . 2 hours after , an officer called my name and told me that because I was suppose to land tru a family class application , they expected me to have my passport on hand ,
They didn't check that I have made a refugee claim ,so they never read any of my 10 letters I sent ,,, so they "guessed " that probly CBSA has it . So according to the officer , the plan to follow is : they contact CBSA and try to retrieve my passport from them , and within a couple more months they will contact me and reschedule another appointment , easy haaa!
I think that by now , that officer I spoke to today ,already forgot everything she told me because she was very busy landing everybody else ,
Out of luck and out of words now ,

it'll all work out. has the sponsor contacted their mp to see if they can help make sure the passport is found in a timely manner? perhaps it will be just the right push to get you rescheduled asap!

I just got off the phone from c c agent , he checked on my file and he told me that today CiC Edmonton sent a request to CBSA to retrieve my passport , but agent doesn't know how long it's gonna take CBSA to react . He said that the note is very fresh , like if just came out of the oven ! Lol

Tilikun I am so sorry this happened to you! It definitely sounds like you will be landing though, my hope for you is that it happens very very soon - maybe you will still be able to go on your trips??!! My husband is also a failed refugee. They seized his passport at the border 7.5 years ago so this could totally happen to us... if we ever actually have our application processed which at this rate I have to say I am losing faith. Did they indicate to you how you could have gotten your passport back earlier? Sounds to me like you did everything you could and you still didn't get it.

I am so confused by CIC. There are so many people who have not yet received DM from previous months and yet they are processing September?? This does not seem fair to me. I just want us to receive AIP so we can be sure my husband can stay in Canada until his PR is processed. He is a failed refugee and I'm terrified he'll get deported before our application is looked at!! We are February/14 applicants and at this rate of processing I'm scared it's going to move up to years! Why is everything so slow??

I now realized that call center agents don't have any idea about what a seized passport mean or what problems it could lead to , I did so many calls to them , sent letters tru register mail ($12.89 paid just so I could see the signature of who received it ) from within edmonton . My mistakes now are the following : 1.among all the calls I made , I've never asked any of the agents to Put a Note on my File that my Passport needs somehow to be retrieve for my landing date .
2. I just followed with blind eyes what they told me , that I was gonna get my passport right on that day of my landing .
3. Since January 8th , the day I got DM , I only sent 2 faxes to their fax #780-495-6739 I now think that I should have sent 10 /per day since that date until yesterday .

I now realized that call center agents don't have any idea about what a seized passport mean or what problems it could lead to , I did so many calls to them , sent letters tru register mail ($12.89 paid just so I could see the signature of who received it ) from within edmonton . Thanks Tilikun! This is so not ok. What is the point of call center agents that not only don't know answers but make answers up as they go along? You trusted a service. I would've done the same. How frustrating! It's like they forget this is people's lives they are dealing with. I appreciate your input and I wish you a speedy landing!!!
