It sounds like there is still a very good chance that you will land, just later than you had hoped!

Since CBSA will undoubtedly give you (or CIC) your passport, you should be fine...eventually.

Good luck!
I agree.... you were not denied landing ..you were delayed landing...

You will get there... it will just be a bit later. When you do land...it will taste so much more sweeter

I just feel so stupid for trusting on advice that the "USELESS " ccagents (as I referred to them a couple days ago ) . My passport was seized by CiCEdmonton due to a refugee claim I did 4 years ago , I sent so many faxes to this local office about that ( last fax was 10 days ago ) . I also called cc so many times asking about what I should do about my passport , they always told me " don't worry , they will have your passport for you on that day " ,
So , just to make sure I sent letters and faxes to cic edmonton to confirm this ( they never replied though ) .
Today , I reminded this to the first agent I met at cic's front counter , then she checked my appointment letter , my 2 photos , and just told me that everything is fine and just wait at the waiting seats . 2 hours after , an officer called my name and told me that because I was suppose to land tru a family class application , they expected me to have my passport on hand ,
They didn't check that I have made a refugee claim ,so they never read any of my 10 letters I sent ,,, so they "guessed " that probly CBSA has it . So according to the officer , the plan to follow is : they contact CBSA and try to retrieve my passport from them , and within a couple more months they will contact me and reschedule another appointment , easy haaa! :(
I think that by now , that officer I spoke to today ,already forgot everything she told me because she was very busy landing everybody else ,
Out of luck and out of words now ,
Thanks guys , I just hope this experience help a few that are on my same situation .
Sorry about the mishap. Just be glad that it is not a landing rejection. Only a delay in landing as PR. There was a case whereby the applicant's COPR had the name misspelled, not matching the passport name. The applicant faxed, wrote letters many times to inform them of the misspelling, prior to landing. The agent simply corrected the error in the system at the spot. But the applicant had to come back the next day as the change required 24 hours to update. They returned the next day and landed without any issues.

Is anyone who landed recently able to confirm if they have Condition 51 on their COPR? (Must cohabit for 2 years)

If so, were you in a relationship of greater than two years (married/common-law) prior to application?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear, but as Ponga said, it sounds like you will just have to wait a little longer to have things sorted out about your passport... It's not a failure or rejection...
What did you mean when you said you have so many things to cancel??
Hey thanks guys , I have booked a couple flights for March 23 Roatan , and another 2 flights on first week of April to Mexico , I was assuming if I'd have landed today by March 21st my pR card would be on my hand ( I'm not from visa exempt countries ) and that's among other things to cancel , oh well , I took the risk , I lose this time .

Yeah hopefully I get lucky like that , hopefully cic and cbsa work things out quickly , I just can not believe that after all the letters I sent to them , it is still an unresolved issue .

Thanks! It's good to know beacuse I'm an August 2 2013 applicant and have received my AIP on November 4th 2014 with a letter requesting my police certificate. I'm from Mexico and you cannot apply for it until CIC request to do that.

No DM email received yet :(

Yes police certificates were included and I also did an up-front medical exam.

Wonder what CIC is doing for all those that have been waiting on AIP or DM for so long before they started doing files again...seems like they are completing the most recent files they are working on..but leaving some of us behind...very frustrating.

I have a question for people who have already had their landing interviews. I have my landing interview tomorrow and I am worried about their questions. Many years ago when I was 15 I was fined for graffiti in England and it is still on my police record. I sent a letter to the CIC explaining the fine with my application and was never asked for more information about it during the application process.

My question is how does the CIC word the criminal question in the landing interview? If they ask "have you committed a crime in Canada" then I am fine. However, if they ask "have you ever committed a crime?" then I will have to say yes but they already know about my petty fine in England. I’m worried the agent will cause me some trouble and delay my landing because of this.

Thanks in advance for your help!
