You are eligible for BC MSP as soon as CIC receives your application for PR (+ ~3 months waiting period).

Many of us had to fight tooth and nail to convince them that we do NOT have to have AIP, like so many of their staff `think'.
Unfortunately, those of us that succeeded are the minority.

Tooth and nail... ugh.

Any advice? we were going to try mailing MSP (BC) a letter explaining our situation and include a copy of our AOR letter as well as a copy of our owp (we were going to do it after we got owp) BUT.... do you think its better to speak to someone in person? or did you call? Any tips?

With the OWP you will most likely success, but they give you a really hard time (and NO health coverage) with only AOR. People who were approved usually had something else as well, like the transfer letter, or "started processing..." line in eCAS.
Have you taken a look at this thread?

If you are willing to wait for your OWP, you will have absolutely no problem getting MSP. However, you are far in the process already (as I see you applied for PR in September 2013) and I don't think it would even be a problem getting MSP now. I'm an October 2013 applicant, I had no problems getting it with only a visitor visa, didn't have to call or ask or fight for it. Explanation letter is necessary to explain your situation as well as all supporting documents.

Good news everyone

Called my common law partner to see what she wanted for dinner...

she said 'I GOT A TWO YEAR OWP IN THE MAIL TODAY!!'

Our app (owp sent with ) was received sept 18th..so anyone around that date please check your mail box!!
The pilot program is up and running fast!!!

We have AOR - no AIP or SA
she was on a post grad work permit - and now she is on a OWP..

A lot of people on here get confused regarding PGWP..weather or not they are extendable..or whatever..well..i can say for sure 100% that under the pilot program, if you were on PGWP and you apply for OWP along with PR then you can get a new OWP while you wait for AIP!

She goes back to her old job starting Monday ... hell ya

congrats bankerguy! :D

I got my OWP on the mail today.

Received the email on the 3rd saying it was approved. They sent on the mail on the 5th, and I got it today.

It says " Case type 27" on it.

Good news to me too... I also received my OWP today... issued on December 30.

I hope CIC keeps working at this rate of OWP, AIP and hopefully DM too for everybody else that is waiting.

When we got our AOR (Sept.2013 applicant) and letter indicating that my husband had implied status we tried getting MSP. Tried several times after that a few months apart hoping different people might give us different results. Last try was 3 months ago, still no MSP. Which sucks because years ago we tried with AHC (Alberta) and they said they could give it to him. But now with an OWP, they can't say no. =)

Hey All,

So many good news to share so wondering where to begin. We were Aug 2, 2013 applicant.

Ok, received my DM email yesterday (received by spouse) and were so happy.

And today, I received the landing interview date (etobicoke center) which is just next week!

Thanks everybody in the forum for their support and lot of thanks to God!

:)

Oh, and incase anyone is wondering, the OWP is Class 27 as well. And on the bottom it does note that we have a "PENDING FC APR" which I assume means we currently have a "Pending Family Class Application for Permanent Residency" that is still ongoing. So no SA or AIP.

I already have Sponsorship Approval and mine says Class 27 and Pending FC APR

Hello everyone,

Any AIP so far? Good luck and congrats for the OWP!
