I wonder....

You know how some applicants get DM 1 or 2 weeks after AIP..or sometimes they get it at the same time..just a few minutes apart, I"m curious if the applicants county of origin matters?

For example would 1st world countries like, America, England, Japan have faster DM processing times compared to somewhere like Iraq, Columbia, Turkey etc

One could only speculate. The only way you can actually confirm this is if you collect every applicants for the year and compare each other. For example my 2012 inland applicants contains 187 applicants. A very very small pool (0.17%) in comparison to the total 105196 approved 2012 PR family applicants. Keep in mind the 105196 applicants also include "outland" applicants.

Hey there, you same-boaters, semi-brothers in pain!

Are there applicants from March 2013 (or before) still without DM besides me? It's been 22 months since I applied.

Getting worried, more and more... and then it's getting colder and darker.

Anyway, whatever decision they take I'll be just fine! ;D

If you look on the spreadsheet CIC hasnt' been giving out DM's since July. Although, there's one person, MiriMinBC, who is a May 22, 2013 applicant that got both AIP and DM on October 22. Most of the March 2013 applicants on the spreadsheet received DM the beginning of this year. Have you called CIC to see if there's some information you might not know?

Question.

With my partners PGWP expiring Nov 30th, she's informed her work that she'll be leaving. So, she wont have medican coverage from her work and her care care will now be invalid.

so, we're in BC. what are her options for medical? if she breaks her leg or if she gets sick? she cant just go to a doctor here without a care card? if there 3rd party medical insurance coverage that anyone can recommend? we'd probably only need it for a few months but we will definitely need it. This has me thinking... if someone without coverage goes to a hospital in Canada with a broken leg, what does that cost?

Is there some data just with the inland apps? I was looking for it but never found.

You can get coverage for her if you have the transfer letter.

You can ask for a copy from CIC, although I don't know how long will it take to get it.
There is a longer conversation about the coverage:

Hi everyone.
I have been silently observing this forum since few weeks. I am August 23, 2013 applicant.

U guys have been great support for this tough time we all are going through. But am sure this wait will soon be over. As like u all, we were expecting 8 months processing time but to our dissapointment we missed that train. The most important thing for us is provincial Heath insurance as I have quite not been well since last 6 months and that is costing us lots of dollars, not to mention that even doctors are restricted in very costly tests.

Am here on student visa but am not studying my visa will expire in March 2015. Just a little question as to do I need to apply for extension and how soon do I hv to apply. Secondly, since am not studying which kind of extension I will be applying for? What is the process for this?
Also we did not apply for OWP along with application. Can we apply for OWP after having AIP and what is the cost and timelines for applying OWP?
Wish u all best of luck

My husband and I applied after you on May 23, 2013 and a decision has not been made. It looks like most people on the spreadsheet who applied at the same time and even a few months after have been approved already. I spoke to an agent today and she said they required additional background information which is a cause for the delay. Hopefully we both receive a decision soon!

My husband was born in England. We applied on May 23, 2013 and a decision has not been made. We are already over the processing timeline. It looks like most people on the spreadsheet who applied at the same time and even a few months after us have been approved already.

You can apply for an OWP after you get AIP. It should take about two to three weeks to process. Once you have OWP, you shouldn't need another visa until the OWP expires or you get PR. It costs $155.

Sorry to hear that. I've got my fingers crossed for you! (I don't remember you having any red flags or possible concerns, right?)

Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if I don't apply for OWP , will I still need to apply for visa extension? And what kind of extension will it be as am not studying at the moment.

Yes i will suggest you extending your visa to visitor as after March you will lose status and you wont have implied status too.
