What do you guys think? should my partner redo her medicals?

She got them done 6 months before we applied (they were good for 1 year i believe)
Application received Sept 18th 2013.

Should she redo them? it wasnt cheap -.-

if they do request updated medicals..will they WAIT for the updated medicals before issuing her the OWP???? (owp was sent with app). or will they issue AIP / OWP then request the new medicals as part of the DM requirements

Medicals are for stage 2. If her anticipated job is in the health care field or something like that and it was stated on your application they may request an additional medical prior to OWP.

I was told by multiple CIC Call Center Reps NOT to redo UNLESS they specifically ask for it. I wanted to be one step ahead also and re-do, so it wouldn't slow down processing if they do have to request. But it seems they don't often ask for the re-do. Especially if the applicant cannot leave the country.

So I am wondering why Mississauga is requesting a copy of my husbands passport for the OWP, when it is processed in Vegreville? And they specifically told him he does NOT have AIP, but will be getting the OWP?!?

And has anyone with OWP been turned down for a job because they are not yet PR's and it's just an OWP??

The simple answer is no. They will send out a form letter if they want them redone. All my knowledge comes from my immigration lawyer not something I am assuming unlike other people on here. The other person on here asking if they redo should redo their medicals as they got a form letter that appears to be automatically sent out SHOULD redo their medicals. The form letter sent out for request for medicals is the ONLY request for medicals they send out. It does not influence OWP. AIP influences OWP. The request for medicals comes after that if you have to redo them. (everything could change tomorrow but this is today)

I would call CIC to clarify. It seems like they are requesting a new one because they have a due date for the medical.

When was your PR application received? I see in your post that in your ECAS it shows that medical results were received. I only have the information below in my ECAS and I sent my medical results with my application.

1. We received your application to sponsor -------- on October 22, 2013.

2. We started processing your application on November 21, 2013.


Does anyone NOT have the note on their ECAS that their medical results were received, but sent it with their application?? I hope my medical results were delivered :-[

Thank you for reply. My application was received on Aug 18, 2013. My ECAS didn't show medical report has been received until they updated the ECAS for my AIP. And then ask my med again. That's why it is so confusing. I guess I will re-do my med again. CIC is evil

Are there applicants from March 2013 (or before) still without DM besides me? It's been 22 months since I applied.

Getting worried, more and more... and then it's getting colder and darker.

Anyway, whatever decision they take I'll be just fine! ;D

You know how some applicants get DM 1 or 2 weeks after AIP..or sometimes they get it at the same time..just a few minutes apart, I"m curious if the applicants county of origin matters?

For example would 1st world countries like, America, England, Japan have faster DM processing times compared to somewhere like Iraq, Columbia, Turkey etc

CIC of course will deny that. How the hell can they say yes even if that is true !
There is a 65 pages document on FB page that people are printing out to submit to their local MPs to put pressure on CIC for this ridiculous delay.

YES!!! My husband's application was received March 2013 and we are still waiting for AIP!!! It's ridiculous.

They don't seem to be giving out DM anymore. Not since the move has there been anyone who gets DM right after. However as a suggestion if you phone CIC you can find out from the notes on the file when they have to next ACT on the file. They have a note saying by what date the next action will be taken. Give it a try. Your husband has to phone though as the applicant not you.
