I called on Friday the 31st, and they opened a inquiry to CPC-M. Was told to call back in 3 weeks - 1 month if I still haven't heard anything.

I called yesterday, and the lady was totally unhelpful, and said an inquiry was already started, and that she can tell me nothing more since she is in the call center and doesn't physically have my file. (duh!)

But I was still hoping when I got the GCMS notes I would see progress. I can't explain what a let down. I am here crying at work, I feel like an idiot.

My heart jumped in my throat too when I got the GCMS notes, on first glance I thought it was going to be my AIP. :'( :'( :'(

Hugs for you ACS, as long as you don't have any email that your file has been transferred to the local office, it should be okay. Atleast, they are looking on it now. Positives vibes coming on your way...

i've been calling the cic call centre and they always told me to "wait for the letter"
any way thank you all for the response i hope eveything will be fine.. my husband is already in implied status.. his driver liscense will expired soon, and he needs a valid work permit to renew it..

Received OWP in snail mail few minutes ago.. Valid for 1 yr. I think they based it on expiration of passport.

ACS.., can you check the date and time your gsmc note was generated?????.., file update is based on that date.

Don't worry ACS i know how you feel maybe your AIP will surprise you tom.

It says it was generated Oct.9th??? I requested on the 7th....
Why would it take them so long to send if really generated Oct.9th though??

take one month so we don't bother them by keep asking for it every few days or weeks.

Yes, we just received OWP and it's good for 3 years. We live in BC and with the OWP, we are able to get SIN card and MSP. Also travel to the south back and forth...
It's pretty much the same as PR now as my wife is able to work and do not need to worry about those huge medical costs should that arises. Of course, there are many other perks once you receive the PR . For us, OWP is all we need for now.

Yes, I agree. OWP does offer lots of convenience.

Except that leaving Canada before landing interview is still a risk.

Call quick! Before they realize they made a mistake and move the processing date in reverse to about the 13th..which is where they seem to actually be on.....

I can call CIC but I know it's waste of the time because they will basically tell you the same thing I see from the website.
Aug 17th was Saturday last year, so I am just assuming they are "working" on all applications received that week.
I also have a feeling that they might be "stuck" with ACS's application right now.

But you should call since it is now past your date, and at least get them to open an inquiry for you!
