Call centre "If your application for sponsorship of a spouse or common-law partner in Canada was mailed or received after Tuesday aug 20, 2013, it is not yet being processed" For sure that another mistake, instead inside I guess they are taking about outland apps, let face it nobody else beside Flange12 has got AIP or DM.
Anyway its just matter of time to see what the new update.

The Toronto Star keeps tags on all their immigration articles, in case anyone is interested

If you look at the spreadsheet you will see that we don't have anybody on the forum that applied on August 2, 2013 and August 5, 2013.

People that applied on those 2 days might be having good news today!!!

Trying to be positive here :D

Yes inbetween august 1th & 20 we have 12 people in our spreadsheet & so nobody has hear nothing.
That why when they mention August 20 it is hard to beleave.

Remember that's only on the forum's spreadsheet which probably represents only a few percent of the people that actually applied for sponsorship. But I'm sure people will be hearing good news soon! :)

Just got my GCMS notes.

Looks like they opened my file once every month in June, July, and August.

I know that CIC has received my medicals (confirmed via call centre) but my notes don't show any information past my AOR date.

I'm concerned because the 2nd half of my postal code in Toronto is entered incorrectly on the file! Should I call & ask them to fix it? Because the call centre
people apparently have my right postal code (they ask every time for identification) so I don't know what's up with that?

Notes also show that so far 3 agents have worked on my file which looks like mere data entry as opposed to processing of the case itself.

Yes, there's a official letter CIC agents send when questioned about implied status, I have received this letter when I first applied. The letter does not explicit say you can continue working though, it only explains implied status itself. Most of employers in Canada are familiar with implied status, as long you don't change jobs you don't need to extend your temporary SIN number, which I believe is not possible anyway, without a new work visa. That said, implied status allow you to have the same rights as the visa you previous had (so a worker can work, a student can study), BUT, IEC and PGWP are not extendable visas, therefore, a lot of people believe you can not continue working while on implied status with non-extendable visas, even if the agent on the phone say you can continue working, because they don't really know the rules for different work visa types. Most people don't work on implied status if their former visa was IEC and PGWP because of cases where CBSA indicate the person was illegally working.

4 different CIC agents have told me that PGWP do qualify for implied status... but like you said, they dont always know and there are cases where CBSA agents have indicated that expired pgwp holders have worked illegally.

is there a call center for CBSA that i can get clarity on this? It's crazy that no one has come out and officially clarified this.

EDITT*i called CBSA, they said "we dont have our own set of rules, we only follow rules laid down by the CIC... if they said she can work , then she can work.
