Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has significantly improved its ability to process applications by increasing its decision making capacity from approximately 30 citizenship judges to more than 450 decision makers.

Do you think the delay was due to staff allocation to clear citizenship backlog? And they are recruiting more staff for immigration processing?

Where is that from? I didn't see that before...

I would totally love to work for CIC...Single handedly turn things around...lol. Assume I'd have to wait til our Application is complete to apply though....

When did they start transferring files from Vegreville? I'm may 2013 and never received a notice that mine was transferred.

I got a notice that my application has been transfer in February, 2014.

Folks,

Getting citizenship will be faster now according to this link.

When the change of location was announced (Feb. of this year), CIC stated that any application that had not yet commenced processing, would be internally routed to Mississauga.

That was released today, I hope that's the reason our applications suffered, so they will make it more efficient in the future.
But since they knew that why not let us know things are being improved and a delay was expected for this 5 past months, instead of letting people going bananas with the unreasonable delay.

Quote from CIC News Release
" August 1, 2014 — Ottawa — Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander today announced that recent changes to the Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act are already paying big dividends: citizenship backlogs are at their lowest level in more than two years..."

citizenship backlogs are at their lowest level...? Are you kidding me??

If this is true and we will see a change in the processing time soon, it is just July/Aug/Sep 2013 applicants from last year who suffered the most out of this change...especially, the July applicants!! Poor us...

Yeah, I found that quote pretty laughable myself...but then again, we really don't know how many applications are out there. Supposedly they've had more applications this past year than ever, so if we knew a number that would definitely make sense. I guess that's one thing we have to remember, they're probably dealing with hundreds of applications per month that are submitted. Unfortunately we just happened to submit our application during the busiest period ever, lol.

Hi Everyone!

Long time no speak. I just wanted to say, I received my PR card yesterday so the full process is done!

I wish everyone the best of luck and I am here for all of you if you have any questions.

Cheers,
