Hello guys,

FYI, I called CIC agent last week as regards my application, I explained to the call center representative that it has passed 11 months and he sent email to CIC Mississauga on my behalf and this morning I received this email from CIC Mississauga.

This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence (APR) you made under the Spouse or
Common-Law Partner in Canada Class.
Please be advised that your application was received at this office on August 21, 2013. We are
currently working on applications received on July 30, 2013.
All applications for permanent residence are processed according to the date the complete application
was received. The current processing times for in-Canada applications (refer to section for “Person to
be sponsored lives in Canada”) are available for your reference on the Citizenship and Immigration
Canada (CIC) website at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. Please note that,
given the high volume of inquiries submitted to this office, status updates on cases are not normally
provided unless the processing time for a file is longer than the service standards outlined on the CIC
website.

When did they start transferring files from Vegreville? I'm may 2013 and never received a notice that mine was transferred.

Would one get an email regarding AIP first or would it appear on the website first?
If you provided your email address, you will receive an email, if not you will receive a regular mail. It will show on your ecas profile i believe within 1 week.
Im not sure what your situation is but did you ever receive an email saying that your file was transferred to a local office (other than missisauga). If they asked for your medical that means you should have received AIP before they requested the medical. Was the sponsor approved already? It seems to me that you might just be waiting for decision made, rather than AIP

They requested medical and additional information at the same time. I sent both in March. The additional information was a copy of my marriage cert (again - I sent it with original packet), a better explanation of how my husband and I met (apparently meeting online is more weird than mail order brides) and more photos.

I never received an email that my case has been transferred.

I called yesterday because we haven't received an AIP yet and was told that an officer has reviewed everything but hasn't put a decision in yet, whatever that means. But that it should be in the next 2 weeks. Which is exactly what they said at the beginning of July.

They need to write some new scripts and lame excuses for the call centre agents.

I have not received AIP yet. Called CIC and all they have told me is they sent an email to CIC-M informing them that they have past my application date.

I have seen 2 person got landing date on a Saturday at different offices.

I wouldn't say that's speeding up time

Speeding up time would have more like 100 people rather than just 2..

I would do a case specific inquiry, you are past processing time! They cant just leave you in the dark!
