hi God be with us congrats on the good news and there is nothing to be nervous about for your interview tomorrow its gonna be very quick by what others have posted maybe 30 mins tops . They will be asking you just 3 questions then let you know bout your responsibility as a pr and ask your spouse if he wants to continue with the sponsorship. You will sign some papers your copr and thats it you will officially be a pr of Canada after less than one year so make sure that you sleep like a baby tonight because tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of your life. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi folksG,

Thanks so much for giving that confidence.

Feeling better.

May God Bless Us All!!

So I called CIC today to find out how far they were with my papers. It turns out they haven't received the medical for my grown daughter. The LA office has had it since May 9th. Apparently it can take up to three months to get from the states to here. THREE MONTHS. I also found out that they still have to do her background check. Canada has initiated it, but now LA has to do something and so far there isn't any word.

The worst part of all of this is that there is absolutely nothing we can do to speed things along. We just have to sit on our hands and wait. I thought maybe we'd have DM by July. Now I can't see that happening until September at the earliest. And, honestly, I'm not even holding my breath for that. I'll be happy if it will happen before the holidays.

I am grateful, however, that I was able to get my OWP in the meantime. At least I can work and my wife doesn't have to be the sole wage-earner any more.

I received my PR Card in the mail last Friday :)

Good luck to everybody who is still waiting!

Congrats!

So, how long is it to receive the card since you landed?

Hi everyone I'm landed in Mars 13 I received my card last week.

Finally, a officer from CIC-M called today, but the only thing was to verify address. When I tried to ask more, she said nothing much she can tell from her part other than she only here to verify address and ask me to call back if I have concerns of my file.

I just used to it already, everytime i call their ans would just so "Official" like a script.

Anyhow lets keep up the good hope.

Good Morning folks,

Just received an e-mail from CIC saying they've approved me as a sponsor. Any news is good news right? So will they be e-mailing my husband shortly thereafter or are they just starting second part of stage 1 now (in terms of assessing him)?

Yes, July 22 and I just received 2 separate emails one to my wife and one to me.

I think they are the "Sponsorship Approval" and "Approval in Principle".

The 1st Ltr said

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence
(APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly."

the 2nd ltr said

"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent
residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class"

11 months and 2 days man. Since I did not attached the OWP application with my original application, I guess I am not able to apply for OWP rite guys?? (and I am completing the OWP application form now)

After this long wait, can someone kindly advise on what is the next step would be like in relation to OWP & OHIP & SIN?

I know the final decision is not made yet (They can take up to 8 months :( but at least I can contribute to the family income.

As a Chinese and I have to depend on my wife's income in the last 12 months it just frustrated.

Anyhow, may good news to the rest of us soon.
