Hi Guys,

I did my medical examination one month ago, and the doctor said they sent the E-results on March 6. I checked my online status, it is still not updated. It is only because they are uploading slowly or there is something that I should worry about? Thanks guys.

Hi Everyone
I went to Service Ontario to apply for my wife's OHIP and like i guessed, they didnt give it to her. We recieved the AIP on feb 6th. We are waiting for DM. Here is what happened to us, I showed them my AIP letter and they said it is not enough. I heard that some of the people here got their OHIP coverage showing their AIP. They asked me to show them another letter intended for my wife saying her application for permanent residence is in process. This is really frustating as my wife is four months pregnant. CIC never sent her an AIP email for applicant. I hate the fact that CIC and OHIP procedure is really contradicting. CIC said we can show the AIP letter at Service Ontario and Service Ontario says that it is not sufficent. Anyone with same exepriece here? please shed some light here. I need some advice. Even the staff working at Service Ontario did not have good knowledge on this process. Any suggestions or advices would be greatly appreciated

We were able to apply for OHIP coverage following AIP too. We presented the letter of AIP to Service Ontario and Service Ontario accepted the letter. Please note that coverage does not take affect until 3 months following AIP date on the letter.

you should return to Service Ontario with the AIP letter.

My fiancé did his medical in October, 2013, and Ecas hasn't updated yet. We were told by CIC representatives that they received it in November, 2013. I asked them when that's going to show but was told only no guarantee time for that just up to the officer handling our application.

Hi it's been a long time since I posted, because It's making me feel so long if I checked every time I applied Aug 6 they received my file August 8, It's my 8 months today based on Initial assessment I should expect any feedback this month, but since July applicants haven't heard anything yet I think I shouldn't expect anything this month :(

Called the CIC today, I asked my application they said they sent an email to the CPC-M regarding my application and OWP application cause the guy said it's been a long time, the guy I talked to is nice because he followed up my file.

my temp SIN card came in the mail today! :o ..i called service ontario asking about temp OHIP...i was told that i would have to be working and show aa letter of employment of at least 6 months :-\ ..that doesn't sound right...should i just go to a service ontario with my OWP letter? (it states that i have 1st stage approval)

Hi guys!
Just to let you know... MY LANDING LETTER IS HERE! :) (well, not the letter with the date, but the weird letter that only Quebec applicants received :P) So yeah! :) Really close to the end!!!
Have a few questions, thought, and I dont know who can I address them to..!

Since the beginning of my process, CIC has treated me with my married name (which appear in my country's national ID and Driver's license).
I didnt updated my passport cuz it will take at least a month and i didnt wanted to delay the process... They ignored my passport, and treat me by the name on my national id.

Its LAW in my country that your national ID dictates everything, so next time ill update my passport, even if i dont ask for, they will change my name to my married one. So, passport depends on national id for info.

Quebec sends a letter before the landing letter (the one I received today) which contains your info and you are required to check it and send it back with your photos, receipt for 490$ and passport copy.

I called CIC on this mattr and the agent told me to return the paper to montreal, with not only a copy of my passport but also a copy of my national ID explaining the situation. Giving that my married name is only and adition to my maiden name (instead of having 2 last names, I have now three) it wil lbe no complicated for Montreal to understand it.

I have planned to back it up with a page of the consulate of my country which states that passport goes by the National ID name, and that as soon as I get COPR i will update my passport.

Anyone has an idea? or something?

Im so close to the end! im soooo soooo happy :)
Thanks for accompanying me in this hard path...

Good luck and God bless!

Thank you for your input Migrain. I really appreciate that. I asked CIC to send my wife the confirmation letter again for which they told me to wait. SIghhhhh She is pregnant and they tell us to wait. Considering 3 month waiting period, she should get her ohip converage from May 3rd, which is approaching soon. I will try going to another center or I am thinking of going to the headoffice. fingers crossed. Thanks again

That's right as you only show your letter of meeting sponsorship eligibility is definitely not enough. Your wife's letter is the real AIP saying she meet the requirements to apply for permanent residence.

It shows very clearly on the OHIP website:
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/ohip_eligibility.aspx
"you have submitted an application for permanent residence in Canada, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada has confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada ;"

Yey liberal majority win in Montreal :) lol

Here is a bit of an update for me
I had the decision made about 6 weeks ago along with the open work permit...my app was filed april 2013
The file was moved to halifax where I hit a small hitch.
My driving history shows an accident where fatalities were involved over 20 years ago
I never went to jail but they wanted proof that I had not been to jail so I got a copy of court records saying this.
The officer was very good about it all but never gave me any clue as to where it would go.
Today I received a registered letter requesting I present myself in person at the office on Thursay the 10th .
I called and rsvped and I also tried to get a clue to the outcome of the driving stuff...the officer said he had it all and that it would be discussed on Thursday...I asked if it was favorable and he gave me the same answer with no clue to outcome.
So the next 72 hours I will worry.
Is this request to present myself to the office a usual request?

SIde note....my wife and three kids are all Canadian citizens and I am Australian
Yeah definitely not a landing interview , it is probly to discuss a possible inadmisibility , but you shouldn't worry to much because that incident happened 20 years ago ( and on the website says that if it happened 10 years ago you are deemed rehabilitated ) just hope for the best ,and God bless you and your family !
