Hey guys! It's been a while! But I'm back with good news! I got a letter from CIC stating the the processing of my application has been completed!!!! ;D ;D ;D It's dated March 17th, 2014.

All I have to do now is pay my RPR fee. Does anyone know approximately how long it will take for them to send me my appointment date after paying the fee?

Also, my mom passed away in august, should I have notified them of this? Thank you in advanced! ;D

congratulations Laylalala for your DM, you're almost through the process to become a PR,

Oh my!!!! Great news LaylaLala!!!! Congratulations!!!!
We have close timelines..really hope to hear news soon.
By the way, it is time to celebrate!! The best wishes to you and your partner in Canada :)

Happy for all of you receiving AOR, AIP, DP, etc...! I am not feeling that lucky lately. CIC lost my police check since last year, because they assigned me two different file numbers, so the police check went the the first one, and they say the application with that number was canceled. I'm pretty sure I didn't cancel my application and that I sent 1kilograms of documents only once in my life. They say if I don't send the police check before april 14th they will cancel my application. Any suggestion?? Anyone with a similar situation?? :-\

Thanks same-boaters!! Cheers

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if you can apply for health card after you receive a AIP letter, if yes how.

Thank you

Whereabouts in Canada you from? Yes, you can apply for health card. You can use your AIP to apply an Open Work Permit too and that gives you freedom to work while waiting for your PR.

You can call the corresponding offices that deals with Health care in the Province where you live. And tell them that you have first stage approval from your Sponsorship. They will send you the documents that you have to comply, or you can visit the office. You bring your passport, AIP(printed email) ,you have to filled in some forms and wait for your health card after a week or so.

That's unfortunate to hear. I would re-send the police check even though they lost it. If it hits that April 14th deadline they will cancel the application and you'll lose all that time.

In the meantime you can try contacting your local MP to try to put pressure on CIC to find that original missing document.
