@Guri3577 is right, @Carlaganda23
CIC DOESN'T REQUEST PASSPORT FOR INLAND.
After getting DM, as I am now, we wait for an "interview letter" which contains the date and time of our landing interview, as well as a list of documents that we need to bring (normally, 2 photos, landing letter, passport, and any other immigration document). The sponsor HAS to be present. Then, during the landing interview, we will receive our COPR and 2 months after, the PR card on the Mail. The landing can be anytime after DM, depending on how bussy your office is. (mine is Montreal, I guess is a pretty bussy one!)

Hope this has solved your doubts. If you are inland, they will not request your passport.

Good luck and God bless!

Hi MaxLet and other 2013 ers.

About being accompanied sponsor at the landing interview. It depends on the local office. I heard that an applicant who landed at the Vancouver office last month was not asked to come to the interview with her husband. I guess there is no space for sponsors because the Vancouver office is the busiest office and there are so many applicants at the waiting room.

Passport is requested to bring to the landing interview.

Good luck! :)

Really @Tomorisu? Maybe the applicant was not ask to bring the sponsor for an specific reason (health? trip?), maybe it was requested anyway to bring an ID of the sponsor or such?

As far as I know, CIC asks for the sponsor upon landing cuz they do check the ID looking for the same address. Not much for an interview but for a small confirmation or so.

I will say that at least 99% of cases, sponsor has to be present, isnt it?

Good luck and God bless to all!

Yes, it's true! She told me that the letter about the landing interview was not mentioned about bringing her sponsor nor sponsor's ID. I've also heard that other applicant landed at the Vancouver office a few years ago was not asked to bring the sponsor.

And as you know, though I landed at the Montreal office and I was asked to go there with my husband and his ID, he was not asked to show his ID at the interview. :p

ohhhh... CIC is harder to understand than my mother-in-law...!
hahahaha.. I guess then is a "case-by-case" "office-by-office" thing.
Oh well...what can we do! :p

thanks for the answer Tomorisu!

Yes CIC is toying with us all.... they like to play with our feelings.. I called CIC after the emails and I was told that I should call back after July 21st... technically my 8 months are over in June and I'm told to enquire in July if hubby doesn't receive his landing appointment/PR by then.... obviously their just giving me a time line but they told me to call after March 15th for update and its the 18th today............. 4 more months... uhhhhggggg....... frusterating... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Hi @ canadianyogini , Im a Quebec applicant myself. I've just finished the hole process and now waiting for landing :D (thanks God!) So hey, if you have any doubts you can ask me :) so, hey. about your question.
When I applied, my husband got an email (all our cic correspondance has been through emails) "we have received your application for sponsorship.. blah blah blah" -AOR, and 20 days after that we got another letter that said "We have started to proccess your application for sponsorship and we realized you are a Quebec applicant, in order to continue the processing, you will have to contact le Ministere d'immigration et des Communautes culturelles du Quebec (MICC) for a CSQ"

So, I went to the MICC website and download the application that is pretty much about the sponsor and just a few questions about the applicant. And when i finished, I printed the email from CIC requesting csq, I join it to the application and I throw in a few things that werent requiere but that I found relevant (marriage certificate, a few pics (no more than 10)) and sent it to quebec.

They will send you an approuval back on the MAIL (snail mail-regular mail) cuz MICC does not send emails as cic does. It doesnt take long for an answer.. ill say max 2 months in the worst case scenario! Once you get it back, you will have TWO COPIES of the csq, one says IMMIGRATION CANADA and the other says REQUERANT (on the bottom right). and the UNDERTAKE (which is a copy of your application signed by a MICC officer, KEEP THAT cuz you'll need it to land)

Now, the two copies, obviously one is for you (you'll need it for ramq (quebec inssurance) and other tramits), the other one (immigration) some people say dont sent it back cuz quebec communicates with cic and they have probably already sent a copy of it. BUT in my case, better be safe, so I DID sent the CSQ copy (immigration in the bottom) back to cic, with a letter indicating my uci number.

After that you have to wait for AIP. I believe (seniors correct if im wrong) that YOU NEED the CSQ to get AIP. Cuz AIP is the evaluation of the sponsor, and Quebec DOES evaluate your sponsor, so... the faster you do MICC, the faster youll get AIP, so if you havent get order to do it by cic but you got AOR already, call them immediately and ask them why you havent received the letter (or email) requesting CSQ, they know you need that to go to MICC.

if you have further questions, let me know, i might be of help :)

God bless and Good luck!
Hi @MaxLet! We called CIC yesterday and we found something 'interesting'. My hubby called in French and I called separately in english. Both of the agents said, in order for CIC to request CSQ, CIC needs to give us AIP and ask us to MICC. But for my hubby, the agent said, it will be done around May since the waiting period is 8 months. I guess the processing changed recently :( Nonetheless, thank you for your help!

they told you to wait for aip? did you specified that you are inland? normally, outlanders must wait for aip (sponsor's approuval), it is not supposed to be like that for inlanders. hey check the threath "QUEBEC INLAND 2012" they helped me a lot, they might clear this up too..
really ackward!

Happy for all of you receiving AOR, AIP, DP, etc...! I am not feeling that lucky lately. CIC lost my police check since last year, because they assigned me two different file numbers, so the police check went the the first one, and they say the application with that number was canceled. I'm pretty sure I didn't cancel my application and that I sent 1kilograms of documents only once in my life. They say if I don't send the police check before april 14th they will cancel my application. Any suggestion?? Anyone with a similar situation?? :-\

Thanks same-boaters!! Cheers
Are you able to get a new one before april 14th? Or do you have a copy (from the original or from the translation)? If you can't send them a new before the 14th I would send an explanation letter with some kind of copy...
I feel sorry for you, it really sucks:(
