Yes. My husband applied for and accepted a position with a company back in June although he is still waiting to actually start working. The company also filed for an LMO to expedite his start date but it is starting to look like he will have his OWP first. They have been very accommodating to him and I am not sure this would be the norm but if you are getting close you might as well get out there and make a start. I have found the job hunting process to be quite lengthy in Canada as it is-- so it can't hurt to start the process now. Good luck to you in your job hunt! You may even be quite lucky and find a company with a standing/open LMO that they would be able to attach you to.

Thank you, giggles! It's great that your husband has a job waiting for him! Hopefully he'll get his OWP very soon.

I'm happy to hear that I don't have to wait until I have my OWP in hand to start my search. It'll definitely express my interest in some of the positions I've seen posted and hope for the best!

Thanks again.

Happy Monday, everyone! Hopefully CIC continues to work hard and get through the files! :) Cirene, you will see something soon! I know it!

Has anyone tried checking application status online in the past couple of days? It seems to be down for me and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the same...

Nope... CIC website is not working...

We received AIP at the end of November with request for fingerprints and medical. We had them both done in early December and mailed the fingerprints in early this month. Online it showed that they had received the medical but there is nothing about fingerprints...

Did the fingerprints take a while to show up online for other people? Should I be worried that they didn't get them or they were lost?

I'm giving this another week to receive my work permit that CIC verbally stated they sent on January 8th. I can't even believe it can take this long to send out a letter that even goes to the same province.

unable to access as well :(

We sent in a request for representative form filled to I can access my hub's files when calling CIC call centre. We didn't sent this in with the original application as I assumed I'd always have access as I was sponsoring him. I had no idea that once I was approved to sponsor that I would no longer have authorization to call in on behalf of my hub's anymore :( Anyhow, we sent in the form along with his OWP back on 12/27/13. My question is how do I know the request for representative is in place and I can call? I'd like to give them a shout and see if there is any progress with the OWP but I don't want to sit on hold for 45 mins only to find out the representative form isn't processed yet. Anyone have any idea?

Hey guys,
Where would I see on ecas that CIC has received our medical? We had them done before sending our app, so we sent the confirmation of the medical with our package back in July.

You can see this info at the same place you see that CIC has received your application, when they start to work on it..(your status, E-Cas)
Sometimes it will appear very soon, in my case I did the medical in Nov.18,2013 and It appeared 1 week later on my e-cas.

hello RRSweet,
I think you will see the ecas only once they have started processing your file. Right now it seems they still process applications received in March ,
this means a few more month of patience before they work on your July or \ my august applications.

keep smiling, it will all be good in time

I am able to access ecas. However it takes several tries. There are times that it shows up as unable to show page. So, you might just need to try again.
