You are right folks-g.. I've been telling myself that but it's hard, specially when you know you are so close to receive an email from CIC hehe.

It will come soon for us.. 8)

I can't tell you how much I hear you on this, Cirene. I check my emails at work now even though I'm not supposed to. I am so ready for the next step in this journey! ;D

Congrats to you, BobbyJo! I would not know how to handle a phone call when the person on the other end says they're from Immigration Canada. LOL

Congrats bobbyjo ... Wow they actually call to give good news that's amazing

Hey Everyone,

CIC was working today - we received AIP, DM & OWP in one shot!!! :o :o ;D ;D

It was very strange... I received a call on my cell phone while at work. The display said that the number was withheld so I didn't answer. A few minutes later, it rang again. This time I answered. The guy on the line said that he was calling from Immigration Canada - I think my heart stopped at that moment. I though for sure that something must be wrong with our application. He asked me about my relationship with my hubby and I said everything was great. He said that he was approving my application to sponsor, and my husband's PR application and OWP, and would be sending the emails. He said that "this was just a good news call". I think I was completely shocked!! I didn't think this would be coming until next week and I never in a million years expected a phone call!!! Anyway I received the AIP email about 5 minutes later and hubby received the DM and OWP email about 20 minutes after that. He will be landing at the Scarborough office.

Some details about our case: this was a common-law application; hubby was born in the US; we did not submit an upfront medical - the medicals were done in November (about 7 months into the process); we continued to renew his TRV throughout so that he was never out of status (even after applying for the OWP).

Good luck to those who are still waiting.... Good things are happening!!!!!!

Oh wow thats awesome news BobbyJo!! Congratssss!!
I think I'll have a heart attack if I were to get a call from CIC lolololol..

Mrs Canucks and Cirene, hang in there its almost your turns now!!
I can feel all the good vibes going your ways!!
Good luck & hopefully you guys get the one shot whole approval package too hehe

Ok I am happy for you, but this worries me a bit. I got DM and my OWP january 9th and even though I had changed my address online my DM letter stated my old address which was a po box, I called and changed it for my landing interview letter but what about if they send it there… OMG

OMG BobbyJo! I'm so excited for you! Congratulations ;D

We submitted police clearance, and the first set of fee ($500) with the application. I had gotten mixed messages on whether or not we could have submitted the OWP with the initial application, but at least its in now. We just need to get the medical out of the way this week and then we are really just sitting back and waiting after that. Its a hurry up and wait process lol.

It is unbelievable how the pace has picked up really - they are working even on weekends. It will be a great year for all of us!
