Reading everyone's responses to AIP and AIP+DM really cheers me up and makes the wait not seem so bad.

We have months and months to go before we're due for AIP ...

I really hope we get AIP + DM + OWP at the same time. We paid all fees up front, we sent medicals AND police reports with the app. We submit about 100 pictures. Lived together 2.5 years prior to submitting the application. Lease agreement, Joint bank account, insurance under both names... she's from japan (not a third world country), she's on a PGWP and working as a teacher for autistic kids, i have a good job with income that can easily support both of us.

SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER!! i really hope we get AIP + DM at the same time.

THE ONE thing that scares the hell out of me, is that the police report that she sent (had to order it from Japan) expired 2 days before our AOR date (as shown on ECAS). BUT, when i spoke with the CIC agent, she said that MED and POLICE reports are considered expired if the expiry date listed on them is before the date we MAIL the package. We mailed the package 3 days before her Police Report expires I even included a letter explaining the timing etc.

*fingers crossed*

Hiiii bankerguy!! We're waiting buddies, i sent my app a week or two after yours :)
My situation is almost same as yours.., paid full, upfront med and home country's pcc..
just that I needed another pcc from singapore which I have to wait for cic's appeal letter to be able to apply for it ..
So its an imcomplete application for mine :'(
Anyway good luck for yours and hopefully u can get everything at the same time!

Hi Gury:

Could you please add this to my name on the spreadsheet.

AIP: january, 09, 2014
medicals, october, 2013
police: january 10, 2014
OWP: July, 2013

Thanks!

-Mariana.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
We ended up applying for TRV. Went to my MP's office and they told us not to go out of status.
Also, my wife's passport had expiry date in July 2014 so we applied for a new one. That required three trips to TO.
Once she got the passport I mailed photocopies of the new passport to the immigration office together with her case number. Hopefully, the application has been updated to reflect the new passport.
Could somebody add us to the spreadsheet:
APP REC'D: APRIL 19 2013
AOR: APRIL 29 2013
OWP: NO
MEDICAL & POLICE CHECK DONE (W/ APPLICATION?) YES
LANDING OFFICE: WINDSOR

TIA for adding us to the spreadsheet.

Happy New Year to all forum participants and good luck in 2014.
We're very encouraged by the progress CIC has made in 2014. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw yesterday's update. Hoping for some good news in end of Feb or early March time frame.
Cheers!

Hello there Windsor12,

Welcome to the forum. You and your wife have three options.

1. Apply for an extension of her TVR
2. Apply for an OWP (which would give her implied status as soon as her TRV expires late this year)
3. Go out of status (according to CIC you do not longer need to be in status)

If it was me (that's just me) I'll go with option "2" not only because she gets implied status once the TRV expires but also because if her AIP is approved CIC will issue and mail her an OWP which she will be able to work.

If you decide to do the OWP here is the link (IMM5710 select OPEN WORK PERMIT WITH A NEW EMPLOYER)

If you want to go with the extension (it's the same link) but scroll down until you see "Option 1 - Apply Online"

and If you decide to go with extension via snail mail, it's the same link but in the IMM 5710 you have to select "Initial TRP or Extension of TRP"

Hope this help you :)

If you have more questions, please ask :)

Hello,

1 question

How long it take for the OWP to arrive after AIP ?

Thanks

-Mariana.

Congrats to everyone who received AIP/OWP/DM this past week. Hopefully this coming week will be just as exciting! :)

-Mariana.

It took about a week for me, and that was including January 1st and the holidays' heavy postal traffic.

As far as I know both stages are processed in Vegreville for inland applications. We are in Stage 2 at the moment and our file is currently in Vegreville. To my understanding It will get transferred to your local office after stage 2 approval for landing interview.

How long does it take for local office in Ottawa to contact applicant?

Yes in the future I don't want any delay, I hope to get AIP & DM at the same time that why I sent everything with my app, PCC, OWP & Medical.
Every case is different my in particular is very complicate but anyway I try to keep positive & hope for the best.
