i will call tomorrow, because the letter said i can apply now for open work permit, but i already applied in july 2013...

i think everything is ok they just need the fingerprints and check my background in Mexico.

i'm confident on this because i know im not a criminal at all..

Doesn't AIP come when the sponsor has been approved? This looks like they are saying, in essence, they have made a decision but it is contingent on you providing your medical, security and background checks.

i think because i pay 490 and do medical + OWP they just need from me the police background from my country... and then i will be done hopefully...

Hello and Congrats to everyone with good news!

I have a question about the police check. My wife came to Canada as a foreign exchange student before she's 18 (she's still is a foreign exchange student); is it true that she does not need a police check from her own country?

Also, does anyone have experience sponsoring a foreign exchange student? Is there anything I should be on a lookout for?

dont even feel bad, i call them 2 days ago and the guy told me, my file is not even in process, because they are ONLY working in january 29 applicants, and today i got AIP so dont believe them, believe than all march applicants at some point, everyone will get AIP or DM if you sent everything in 1 application, the thing is the officer who is working in your application is stock with someone from feb still, and thats why you didnt get it but believe me can happen in any moment. now
