Congratulations, mariannamurrieta! So happy for you! ;D
I'm an April applicant, and I sent my medical in May, but not included my police check. Do they really need the police check? I stayed in Canada for near 6 years (after age 18), holding my student visa. What about you? Did CIC request your police check for both Canada and your country of born?

Congrats again! Hope you and other people on the forum can get DM very soon!

i have been living in canada, for 3 years, and yes they require my police check, and they state i must send them no more later than april 30, 2014.

so i will go this monday to do that, and yes they want the police ckech from mexico not canada.

I assume it would be the same for Nova Scotia... ? :/

Actually, Nova Scotia will give health care coverage to dependents of qualified residents, which is different than Ontario. The rules do vary by province, with Ontario and Quebec being the least generous - and Alberta being the most generous.

Also, guys. I know this question has been asked a million times, but when I switch jobs I simply have to call CIC and let them know, right? They have the contact information for my current job so I don't want there to be a mix up when it comes time for me to move to another job.

You have an open work permit? If so, you don't need to inform CIC that you have changed jobs.

There are a few applicants from 2012 that haven't gotten DM yet. But I do believe most, if not all, of the 2012 applicants have gotten AIPs but still waiting for their DM.

I'm waiting for AIP! I wouldn't worry if I was waiting for DM

Guys! Need help, CIC received my app on March 8, 2013. I received an email from CIC today asking me to do my medicals. But my hubby (sponsor) haven't received AIP. What does this mean?

Are you certain that AIP has not been granted yet? Normally such an e-mail would indicate that they're reviewing your application.

But regardless, do as asked: Go get your medicals. It sounds like they're working on things for your Stage 2.

Marianna they were asking me to submit a copy of my son's long form birth cert too. But hubby hasn't received any email yet. What kind of email did you get from CIC? I received 2, one is a request for medical sans the other one says something like "in order to continue processing your application in Canada, we need further information. But nothing was said about my OWP either.

I'm sure I don't have my AIP. Stage 1 on ecas is still PROCESSING. Medicals are done, I provided Police report, and I paid the second stage also.

But don't they usually issue AIP first before they request for medicals? They're wanting me to complete my medical and a copy of our son's birth cert before April something.
