I would simply print screen it and save the document so it's in your computer just in case. But you can always log in to ecas, I log in every once in a while but it honestly doesn't give a whole lot of information to be honest. Congrats on AOR. Now you can feel a little less stressed hopefully :)
Thanks Line.a

How long did it take you from recieving your AOR/UCI number until you were able to login to eCas?

I already had a UCI number from a past work permit but we didn't check the status on ecas right after he received the AOR email with his UCI. but we could log in very easily. Remember you have to put the UCI number out straight no "-"s in between or anything just the numbers. Then last name and date of birth and the country of residence! It should be working then :)

I've tried that, and I've used my maiden last name (which is on Passport) and my married last name, which is on all documents, and what they seem to use when I call into CIC and confirm. Still doesn't let me in.

But from what it seems for many, from AOR til when you can login seems to be a few days... Although mine was apparently issued Sept.26th....

That makes sense. We didn't check ecas until a month after we got AOR so I'm sure you will be able to log in sooner or later!

Oh well...what's another few months here or there with the wait we are in for.... ::)

I just wanted that AOR, cuz it was the only part we could get "quickly".....the rest, I know ours will probably take longer than most, because we have lots of "extra" things that diffrer from the norm.....so I'm ready (as I can be) for an approx 2 year wait now... ???

That's the only way to deal with it I think.

For me that's why I put 2 years in my mind. If it comes sooner - GREAT! EXCELLENT! AMAZING!!...Now if it takes longer than 2 years, I think I would really loose it.

But right now the 11months + 8 months...only 5 months short of 2 years...

and with my husband's record checks from so many different countries, plus we need to await their instructions for his Costa Rican check (one of the countries you cannot obtain it for ahead of time), and the fact that they will have to review the Application I submitted (and canceled before Approval) for my ex-husband....those things I think will for sure take it above the average wait time....

Then again, we have a few things in our favor....having known each other for 9 years come December, together for about 8 years, and married for 4, with a son (turning 3 in December) in common.....Maybe those will play on our side and speed it up.

Who knows?!? It's really a guessing game for all of us...

REAL legitimate couples get refused; fake/lying “couples” get approved.......

Maybe the Officer checking your case is slower/stricter, or quicker/more lenient. Maybe he had a fight with his wife and hasn't gotten any in weeks and is just in a really bad mood, or maybe he just got married and is feeling all happy, positive and romantic....lmao....We really have NO control and NO idea over some of these things that could result in quicker or slower processing....or even in a unfair refusal (or approval for that matter).

Hello ACS
I got my ecas working 6 motnhs after I got AOR...!!!! And why do you say you cannot get a police check from Costa Rica before hand. I did. I got mine and sent it with application as long as you follow the timeline.

"The certificate must have been issued no more than three (3) months prior to submitting your application"
I did the process from here and then my hubby flew to CR and pick it up but you could have it mail. .

There are a list of about 8 countries for which they instruct you not to get a Police Certificate until they ask for it. Costa Rica is one of them. Along with like Fiji, Afganistan...and I don't remember the others...

Technically for them to issue a Police Certificate you are supposed to be in Costa Rica in person. Of course, everyone knows someone who could get it for them, but for it to be issued according to the CICs instructions, you are supposed to wait til they ask.

We checked with CR Embassy in Ottawa, and they said CIC instructs them to obtain the Record checks, and they as well as the CIC call center advised us to wait until they ask for it.

Just got off the phone with a very nice call centre agent. They were able to confirm with me that my OWP was attached to my PR application!

This makes me extremely happy as I was scared I would get AIP soon and no OWP, and then have to apply for one online and wait another 1-2months for that. But I should get AIP/OWP at the same time now, so nice to have that not bug me mentally anymore =D.

ok Well thank you for that info because I'd never heard of it before I appreciate it and I will send that info to my contact in Ottawa to see why they gave me incorrect info. Yeah see I contact the Costa Rican embassy in Ottawa and they told me what to do I explained what it was for and told me to send them a letter requesting my international police certificate and for what purpose and who I was allowing to pick it up in CR which I put my dad, the Costa Rican Embassy acted in my behave and requested my Police Certificate to the Poder Judicial.. My dad went and picked it up got it certified by the director of el Poder Judicial and officially translated and then took it to the yellow house in San Jose and got certified from them after that they had to take them to the Canadian embassy in La Sabana San Jose and get stamp and signed by them too same thing with my birth certificate. I sent them with my application and my ecas says complete application received

Well let see how it goes.

Hi everyone,

im new here. i just want to know so things...

we are about to submit my sponsorship inland. Im holding a multiple entry visa to expire on may 2014. i arrived here last june 12 , 2013, then left foe the US after a few weeks then came back here on 1st July 2013. questions are:

1. Is it safe to say that my TRV will expire 6 months after July 1? or June 12? (BTW i was here also last Dec 2012 til 1st week of Jan for a holiday, does that include in the counting?)

2. should i apply for an extension of TRV separate from the sponsorship application?

3. when we submit the application for sponsorship. do we need to submit the medical together with it or wait for them to ask for it?

4. I am a Filipino national being sponsored by a Canadian Citizen (filipino also) and Im a Singapore PR working there before i came here. I know Im supposed to get a police clearance from SG also but they will only issue with a letter of appeal as per SG's policy. It was mentioned in the CIC website that they will give us a letter of appeal after they receive our application. Im worried that they will look for it and considered our application incomplete. Should we include the POLICE CLEARANCE APPLICATION for Singapore in our application just so they know we need to have their letter of appeal to get the clearance or just leave it to them to send me the appeal, will the be able to automatically know that i need one?

Here's what the cic website says:
For Non-Singapore Citizens

A COC (Certificate of Clearance) request letter along with a COC Appeal Application Form will be sent to you by the Immigration Office after reviewing the application. You are required to complete the COC Appeal Application Form, plus a COC Application Form that you may obtain from the SPF website (please see address above). Once you have completed the forms, provide the required supporting documents listed above, and submit in-person or by mail to the COC Office. Please note that the Certificate of Clearance (COC) will be mailed directly to the Canadian immigration office requesting the certificate.

Please help... thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, new here. I'm having a it of a problem.

My sponsorship package and residency package were received in Vegreville at the beginning of July and my sponsorship application was started to be processed at the end of July (2013). I need to find out that my sponsorship has been approved and that my wife's permanent residency application has started being processed for health care here.

I called to find out what the delay was, to see if there was a problem because I had changed addresses and was informed that sponsorship applications can take 11 months or more. Yet on the CIC website it says there is a global processing time of 27 days on average. The web site also states that complete applications for permanent residency (including sponsorship) only take 14 months in Canada - Ottawa office (although when I sent in the documents it said 11 months). This doesn't make sense.

I was then told that out of country applications take less time yet there is nothing on the website that says this. Average times in Canada and in Manila for example are both 14 months for everything.

My wife needs medical coverage because she is going to give birth here and this is insane. All I need is notification that my sponsorship has been accepted and that my wife's permanent residency application process has started. I was under the impression that it should only take 30 days and that the Vegreville office is not on strike so should not really be affected. Why am I being given this contradictory information over the phone? Why can't I find processing times for Vegreville specifically? Why does everyone here at BC Health seem to think all I need is proof of sponsorship when the person on the phone said I will not be getting any?

11 months for the first stage. Time goes by fast. Then you get the approval in principle. Good luck
