Extending a tourist visa while waiting for PR

My wife's tourist visa will expire and we have yet to receive PR. Should I extend her tourist visa? The application to extend a tourist visa seems stupid (as no one entering the country in the first place is asked to provide the documents listed: medical check and bank statements). It also...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Vancouver. They will do door to door service here but other places in Canada, not so much. I think they have to use either a local moving company (which would be very expensive) or rely on you picking your stuff up and shipping it the rest of the way.

Can my sponsored wife travel back to Canada with our new son?

I was also told by the embassy in Korea that I could write a consent letter on my wife's behalf to make sure she didn't haven any issues with immigration. Example here: http://travel.gc.ca/travelling/children/consent-letter

You can bring all your possesions with you, so they shouldn't ding you for anything, unless it might appear that you are trying to pass off items you just purchased and may intend to sell once you land...like say 2 crates of brand new terabyte drives. You can also have things shipped over after...

Can my sponsored wife travel back to Canada with our new son?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Very helpful. My wife is actually returning to Canada before our son's Canadian passport would be ready (it takes 20 days and we are still waiting for our Korean family certificate which is supposed to take 10 days). I've contacted the embassy in Korea and...

Can my sponsored wife travel back to Canada with our new son?

Just out of curiousity, what makes you say to do it in Korea? I'm wondering as we don't have anyone who can be the gaurantor there, but if she sent the pictures here I could have my mom do it.

Can my sponsored wife travel back to Canada with our new son?

Thanks! Now, do you happen to know if it's better to apply for the passport in the country the child is in (Korea) or Canada (where I am). They suggest both parents and the child be present...which is not possible in our case. And can he enter Canada without the passport and a return ticket...

Can my sponsored wife travel back to Canada with our new son?

A bit of a strange question, but I have had no luck on the rest of the interwebs. My wife returned to her home country to give birth to our second son. I'm Canadian and she has her first letter from CIC and we have applied for PR out of Canada. She will be returing to Canada shortly. The...

And they will likely ask. That was all they were worried about when we went through immigration here. They didn't care about our marriage certificate, our records showing we had started the permanent residency process...nothing. And you shouldn't tell them you are planning to live in Canada...as...

We used Hyundai shipping (they have several shipping departments though, so you want to get the door to door service that they have for people who are moving internationally). They were fantastic. They came to our house, measured all the items we said we would bring, gave us an estimate, then...

I did, but changed to inland...now thinking that was a mistake. Apparently you can't get medical coverage until you get permanent residency if you apply outland.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Can anyone help me with a dumb question of two? I sent my sponsorship application and my wife's permanent residence application to the Vergreville centre because and the time I had read that inside Canada had a processing time of 11 months start to finish (one month shorter than Manila). My...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thanks Bart, I'll try that. Now since I've had the wrong address now for nearly 2 months, has anyone had confirmation documents sent to their home once they got the email stating that their package had been received? Would hate to find out that they sent something to my address in Korea.

Anyone have issues with the change your address feature? I have changed my address 3 times now and it is still the same old address when I look on the internet. I have always used the continue button located at the bottom of the page. Then submitted it once all pages were finished. I did this...
