As everyone else is saying, hang in there! You can't get an OWP with outland aplication. I am November applicant and have thought about doing outland too but at this point I think it's better to wait and push my patience a bit more.

Oh I have been emailing everyone, for months. I was in the Star article. I tweet at Chris Alexander and CIC. I am not keeping quiet, but it isn't helping. Maybe with more people emailing, tweeting and generally being pests they will actually start to work. 2014 is almost over and CPC-M hasn't done a thing. It makes me think the timeline will reach 24 or even 36 months.

The only solace I take is that I work in very large office in Toronto. That means I work with people who live in Ajax and Pickering. They are getting an earful about Chris Alexander.

I am glad to know that 1st stage outland doesn't lead to a work permit. I guess that settles that. He is from the US and their processing times don't look great.

US Citizens are landing as full PR in roughly 5 or 6 months. Don't base it on what you see with LA office listings. Go check out the US outland applicant thread. Those are processed in Ottawa UNLESS you have some heavy duty red flags, in which case it would be sent to LA.

If I wasn't so close and I hadn't waited this long already, I would definitely put some serious thought into refiling as outland in the US.

Anyone here that has Jinny Sims as your MP? I think her constituency covers North Delta and suburban of Vancouver? Go to her and ask her to question Mr. Alexander. She is one a few that might be willing to pursue.

I wish we had known this before we applied Inland. I lived in LA for 10 years before I moved up here and we looked at the LA office processing times and though inland would be faster.

what i mean is .. can we keep inland form don't cancel ~ and apply new outland from ~ see which come first .. then cancel other one in the end ..

Is anyone considering cancelling their application and switching to outland? My app was received October 1, 2013. At this rate it could be another year before they get to it. What do you think? Is it worth the switch? Would my husband be able to apply for a work permit after the outland first stage of 47 days? I don't give a rats bottom about the second half, I need to get him working!!!!!!

The only things stopping me at this point are:

a) the cost of redoing medicals, etc.
b) spite (I know this is what Chris Alexander wants and now that he is my sworn enemy I don't want to bend to his will)

I have definitely considered this! I'm a December 2013 applicant and this is just painful. I didn't do my research enough before we applied... My husband is from HK and their office is 7 months! This is awful. I'm pregnant and just want this nonsense to be over with. If it still doesn't get better after Sept I will pull it, this is bull!
